ZeroLemon 18W USB Wall Charger Review

Sturdy device provides safe charging for your phone.

Note: I have a Samsung Galaxy s5, which is not on the list of devices compatible with the Quick Charge tech.

I recently found myself in need of a wall charger, and I’ve appreciated using this one from ZeroLemon. Though I don’t benefit from the 75% faster charging, I find the potential very interesting. It’s worth mentioning that these devices include the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 4/Edge, Google Nexus 6, HTC One, Sony Xperia Z4/Z3/Z2, and Motorola MotoX. For incompatible devices, like mine and Apple products, this charger works at the device’s standard charging speed.

As is, this is a solid charger. It came with a USB to micro USB cord and instruction booklet shaped like a lemon (I found the instructions hilarious, but that’s just me). It’s a small thing, but I appreciated the packaging. Everything came in a Ziploc bag without a box or excessive amount of plastic.

The charger feels sturdy. The provided cord also feels pretty sturdy. ZeroLemon guarantees its products for a full year and claims to provide friendly support. The product description mentions it is FCC and RoHS certified to ensure its safety and reliability, which is a big thing for me right now (my previous wall charger kind of exploded, so the emphasis put on this product’s safety was reassuring).

One feature that really piqued my interest was the detachable 100-240 volt AC input. Detaching it makes the charger easier to carry around. It would be nice if there were other international plugs available to switch out, but that might just be wishful thinking on my part. All in all, this was a solid charger.

I am a recently converted former luddite, writer, grammar aficionado, and enthusiastic (though not equally skilled) baker. Being somewhat new to the tech game, I spend most of my time trying to catch up on the last decade and turning things off and on again. I’m a Mac.
