This Slim Coated iPad Sleeve is tailor-made for the iPad
When it comes to leather goods I find myself very picky since I grew up around horseracing. Since I was around saddles, bridles, and other racing gear, I learned about what quality leather was early on in my life. This is why I really enjoy Woolnut products. They strive to make extraordinary high-end leather accessories for tech products. Since they have built quite a name that is synonymous with leather quality, they have recently added new products that are not made with leather. This includes the Coated iPad Sleeve that is available for the 11 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro and the 10.9-inch iPad Air.
DETAILS
The Coated iPad Sleeves are part of the “Coated Collection” that was released by Woolnut in late December 2021. This collection is added to their signature leather and wool lineup. The shell of these products is Matte PU instead of leather and the interior lining is Recycled PET felt instead of wool.
The Coated iPad Sleeve is made with Polyurethane. It is applied as a matte waterproof coating to a thin Polyester backing. The interior of the sleeve is made from 100% recycled plastic bottles (PET bottles). The touch and feel of this material is similar to wool and provides many protective qualities such as shock absorption.
The Coated Sleeve is tailor-made to fit each iPad model that is available. It has an open end that allows for users to charge their iPad while it’s protected by the sleeve. The sleeve is available in black, green, or blue.
USER EXPERIENCE
The Coated iPad Sleeve arrived in a black box with the name of the brand, Woolnut, and what model the sleeve was made for. Woolnut’s packaging is always exclusive-looking and minimalist. There is a subtle image of the product on the front and the back of the box has a description of how the sleeve is made all in white text. My sleeve is designed for the iPad Pro 12.9-inch model.
When opening the box you will find the sleeve inside of a nice cloth drawstring bag with the Woolnut name branded on it. It’s a nice bag that can be used for other items and not just tossed out. It protects the sleeve for shipping and adds just a little bit of style to the packaging. This is one of the things I really like about Woolnut as a company. They care about presentation.
I chose to get the black sleeve. The name ‘Woolnut’ is embossed across the bottom of the sleeve. Since I really love quality leather products, I was really impressed with this non-leather sleeve option that Woolnut is offering. It is slick to the touch and feels really good in the hands. The slim design allows you to easily carry the iPad without needing the Smart Keyboard case. I love my iPad Smart Keyboard but I honestly find myself using the iPad more without it than I do with it. So having a slim iPad sleeve to keep it safe is ideal for me.
The interior of the sleeve is lined with the aforementioned felt material and there is a small tag sewn into the lining near the opening. It reads, “Woolnut – Designed in Sweden.” The felt feels a lot like wool and since I have other Woolnut products, I have been able to directly compare the PU exterior/PET felt interior to the leather/wool combination on the other items. The material seems premium and durable, but it’s really nice that it’s part of a fully synthetic product lineup.
CONCLUSION
Woolnut makes some amazing leather goods for Apple products on the market and now, you can take advantage of the same quality and care with this Coated Collection. The Coated iPad Sleeve is an impressive product that is made just right for the current iPad product line.
