Durable screen protector that protects more than just the screen.
The best value on Apple watches is currently the Apple Watch Sport, but it comes without the durability of sapphire glass like the more expensive options. So, protecting your new accessory from wear and tear is a good idea. I personally want to increase the life of my Apple Watch without taking away from the design. The Westlink premium tempered glass screen protector with full coverage metal edge looks fantastic on my watch, but I cannot not get the slight bubbling off of the edges.
I have the worst luck with putting on screen protectors and this one I had someone else put on while I watched. After seeing it be put on, I felt like I would have been able to have done it myself. Of course you have to clean the device and everything you need comes packaged with the screen protector. Included in the package was an alcohol prep, screen wipe towelette, and a cleaning cloth that took care of dust and dirt that may be on your Apple Watch. I would suggest if you have been using your Apple Watch for awhile to use your own cleaning cloth and cleanser first so the cleaning cloth they provide wont have any extra residue if it needs a little extra cleaning. Lining up the screen protector couldn’t be made any easier with the outer edge being metal. Just place it on and attempt to get out all the micro bubbles and you’re done.
I had an extra clear rubber protector that didn’t fit quite right with this screen protector on, so I had to remove it. The metal edge actually looks quite nice on the watch. The black is the same tone as my black sport band and frames the border of the screen. After several days of wear it’s remained in place and seems to be quite durable. I’ve tapped the glass screen on hard surfaces and it did not get micro scratches or crack. That was really important for me because I’ve had the worst luck when it comes to glass screen protectors. It also doesn’t affect the touch screen and leaves the screen without any traction.
Really the only thing I could find wrong with this screen protector was the thin line of bubbling around the edge. No matter what I do they will not go away. It does not cover any important areas or take away from the look of the watch. It just bothers me that it’s there and it hasn’t gone away like some micro bubbles do.
Even though I have a slight issue with the edging being bubbled I still think this is a very nice screen protector. I don’t see this being something that will peel up, shatter, or look worn quickly. If you are in search of a screen protector and something to protect the metal on top of the Apple Watch this would be a great option.
