ZB-5 On-Ear Headphones are a classic, high-quality audio accessory.
The Veho ZB-5 headphones provide a crisp clean sound that can compete with other high-end audio brands. I’m one of those people who is always listening to some form of audio. Nothing is worse than having a set of headphones with sub-par audio quality to ruin the experience. I’m extremely pleased with the Veho ZB-5 because despite it’s minimalistic look it has a very bold sound.
My initial thought based on the look of the headphones was that they were very plain. Not that having a plain looking set of headphones is a bad thing but it left me feeling neutral with my expectations. They are very lightweight and are a very nice size that doesn’t engulf my head. The sides rotate to fold flat and can be inverted inward. They are labeled left and right on the padded band to indicate which cuff goes on which ear. The main importance of which way you wear them is the fact that if you learn how to use the buttons to control it’s better to keep it consistent. The headphones come with a 3.5mm auxiliary cable which allows you to play the headphones without using the Bluetooth function. That is a feature that I like when choosing Bluetooth headphones because if they’re not charged I still have the capability of using them. Also included is the USB charging cable.
I had no issues Bluetooth pairing the headphones with my iPhone 7 Plus. Thankfully, the name it was under is actually VEHO ZB-5 and takes the guess work out of the very long list of Bluetooth paired devices that I have on my phone. Once connected I tested out some music. I felt like the bass is the star when it comes to these headphones. Bass is something that if they decide they want to go big with it better not distort. The Veho ZB-5 did not distort and still remained very clear. These headphones are not noise canceling but I don’t hear too much external noise with them because the sound seems to overpower and the cuffs are the perfect size to cover the ear almost blocking it out. These headphones are also the kind that enhances the other background music in songs that you typically don’t get with lower end headphones which are a great enhancement to listening.
The controls are extremely simple to use if you decide you don’t want to use the device you’re paired with to control the headphones. There are two areas with buttons that are on the right cuff. The power and pair button are located in the front and the volume/skip button is on the back. To use the volume you press hold, and to change the song you quick push. On the backside of this cuff is also the area you plug in the USB cable to charge. The other cuff has the area where you can plug in the 3.5mm auxiliary cable. Speaking of the auxiliary cable, it is actually a very nice cable and complements the niceness of the headphones.
Overall these headphones are an excellent pair and I would recommend them to anyone wanting to step up the quality of their current headphones. I would like to also add that they disconnect and pair very easily which I found out through my incessant use since I’ve had them. This is my first look at the Veho brand headphones and I’m excited what comes next from them.
