UGREEN FineTrack 2 Review: A Soccer Ball Tracker Built for Travel and Everyday Use

A compact Apple Find My tracker with long battery life, loud alerts, and a playful design aimed at travelers and active users

Bluetooth trackers have been a popular way to keep track of everyday essentials. I personally have a tracking card that I carry in my wallet so that I can find it easily if I get separated from it. Most of these devices blend into the background, though. They are designed to be invisible, which is somewhat boring. UGREEN recognized this and created the FineTrack 2.

About the UGREEN FineTrack 2 Football / Soccer Ball Tracker

The UGREEN FineTrack 2 is a compact Bluetooth tracker designed for Apple’s Find My network, built with a travel-focused approach aimed at users who frequently move through busy environments such as airports, events, and stadiums. Its standout feature is a soccer-inspired, glow-in-the-dark design that gives it a more visible and distinctive appearance compared to typical low-profile tracking tags.

Designed for iOS users, FineTrack 2 integrates directly with Apple’s Find My ecosystem, allowing items to be located through nearby Apple devices without requiring a separate companion app. It includes a high-intensity 110dB speaker to assist with close-range locating and is built with a lanyard-friendly opening for easy attachment to keys, bags, or travel gear.

UGREEN highlights extended battery life as a key benefit, positioning the device for long-term use with minimal maintenance. The sealed internal battery is designed to last for multiple years, reducing the need for periodic replacement compared to traditional coin-cell powered trackers.

As part of a broader seasonal push tied to upcoming FIFA events, the FineTrack 2 is being featured in a “best accessories for FIFA” campaign focused on practical everyday tech for fans, travelers, and active users. Promotional pricing is expected to align with both the product launch window and major retail events such as Prime Day, positioning it as a budget-friendly alternative within the Bluetooth tracker category.

User Experience

The FineTrack 2 comes in a UGREEN-branded box with a nice product image on the front. When you take it out, the ball-shaped tracker has a lanyard attached and a second one in the box as a replacement. There is a quick start guide included as well as the full manual, although the manual was rolled up tight and it’s a little difficult to make it readable.

Since the battery is good for 5-7 years, there is no charger for it. When the battery stops working, it’s just time to replace the item. This is a little bit of a drawback, but since the FineTrack only costs $20 (or less), it’s not a dealbreaker in my opinion. I feel like if you’ve been able to use a tracker for 5-7 years, then it’s definitely worth the investment, and in that time, there will probably be more advanced technology available.

The setup process is very standard in regard to setting up a Find My tracker on an Apple device. To power the tracker on, you press/hold the button, which is located under the UGREEN logo on the ball. Once you activate the tracker, you open the Find My app on your iPhone and press the + button to add a new device. At this point, you select “other” and the FineTrack 2 will appear as an option. Find My will direct you to add an emoji so that you can easily identify it on the Find My map. The app will then tell you that it’s linked to your Apple Account and you can start using it.

It’s very easy to loop through zippers and handles on backpacks. I actually have a backpack that I use when I volunteer at conventions. This will be ideal for keeping tabs on it at those events. The lanyard feels secure, but I’m glad that a second one is included. Because of its design (a soccer ball), it’s less convenient for carrying in a pocket, but when you look at attaching it to a bag like I plan on, it’s just fine.

The chime on this tracker is much louder than other card-sized trackers I’ve tested. It’s very easy to find just by the sound alone. I can hear it when it’s in my backpack, but it’s much harder than when it’s attached to the outside. Now, I would say that part of the reason the trackers are so helpful is because if someone steals your belongings, you can figure that the tracker is hidden and the culprit is less likely to find the tracker to disable it. With this soccer-inspired tracker, if it’s attached to the outside of a bag, someone could just cut it off without a second thought.

Conclusion

The UGREEN FineTrack 2 takes a familiar idea and gives it a more expressive design while keeping the core experience simple and tightly integrated with Apple’s Find My network. It performs best as a travel and everyday carry tracker for items like bags, keys, and luggage, where ease of use and reliability matter more than advanced tracking features. The long battery life and integrated attachment point make it low maintenance, while the loud built-in speaker adds confidence when trying to locate misplaced items nearby. However, the sealed battery and lack of precision tracking features place it firmly in the practical accessory category rather than a premium tracking solution.
