Starting a new school year can be a daunting task. It’s especially frightening if you are starting out a new school year as a college freshman. For those students, we have the following list of top iOS apps that will help you conquer the school year.
GoodReader is an exceptional PDF reader. It’s very robust and handles a lot of options within PDFs. The app can handle large PDFs, TXT files, manuals, books and magazines as easily as a 1-page PDF. Download here.
Evernote has been one of my long-standing favorite note-taking apps. It allows users to create notes, include pictures, video and audio as well as store files and share the notebooks with other people. It’s very helpful for taking many different types of notes. Download here
Sumptus is a simple expense tracker – nothing more, nothing less. It was specifically designed to allow users to add expenses quickly and simplify budget management. Sumptus allows users to keep track of all of their expenses and manage budgets by month, day or week. This is great for the student on the go and it comes with an Apple Watch app option. Speak & Translate
One of my favorite app developers, Apalon, has put out a great update to their Speak & Translate for iOS. With over 100 languages you can easily pull up the language you want to translate and simply just speak. Within a few seconds, you have what you need to say in any of the 100 languages they offer. There is a great feature that included Speak & translate in the Today view of the Notification center. Download here
Scanner Pro by Readdle allows users to turn their iOS devices into a portable, handheld scanner. Users can scan receipts, whiteboards, paper, photographs or even multi-page documents with the use of Scanner Pro. How is this different from just taking a photograph? Well, Scanner Pro uses special algorithms to remove shadows, sharpen images and correct perspective to make the images as readable as possible. Download here
