Survey Monkey for iOS is the perfect companion for your data collection needs.
Several years ago, I used a service called Survey Monkey to send out a survey to my sorority. At the time, it was a just a simple way to collect some opinions about an event we had. Suddenly, I noticed around the same time that many people at my school were using it for research purposes. Now, Survey Monkey has evolved into a powerhouse for data collection with over 15,000,000 users. I’ve used it multiple times in work situations and find that the product just gets better with time.
Today, Survey Monkey launched its first mobile app in the iTunes App Store. This is actually something I’ve been waiting for for a long time. I end up doing a lot of business on my phone and it’s great to have access to my Survey Monkey account without having to go through a web browser. Survey Monkey for iOS features the ability to:
- Create and manage surveys and data
- Access your survey results wherever you are
- Collect survey responses by email
- Get real-time results
- Use analytics tools to turn data into insights
- Get reliable data through pre-made templates
These are all options that are available through the website, too, and it’s great that the Survey Monkey decided to make this a full-fledged, functional app rather than just a ‘view results’ type app.
It’s a beautiful app. Clean and well-designed, Survey Monkey is very easy to use. When you start it for the first time, you are asked to take a tour, sign up or sign in. Since I had an existing account, I chose the ‘sign in’ option. From here, you simply enter your username and password and you are taken to a list of your existing surveys. If you are not on a PRO plan, the option to upgrade appears at the top. You also have the option to create a new survey by selecting the ‘+’ in the upper right-hand corner or view the settings of the app by selecting the menu icon in the upper left-hand corner.
When you select one of your surveys, the interface you are shown immediately tells you if you have responses, when it was created and last modified, what category the survey fits into and it gives you the option to edit, send or analyze the responses. You can also easily close the survey to responses, if it’s still open. There is a toggle in the top right-hand corner that allows you to do this.
I am honestly so impressed with this app that I wish there was a similar desktop version for it. The information you are looking for is right at your finger tips and it’s so easy to collect data by using the app. With this new app, I’m not sure if I’ll go back to using the web interface.
Survey Monkey is free to download and free to create an account, but there are premium plans that you can sign-up for that unlock more features. If you use Survey Monkey for any purpose, I would highly recommend downloading the app to accompany your data collection needs.
