A fun speaker with a great sound.
I have a real love of speakers that light up. I don’t know where my mini-obsession came from, but I’ve always loved looking at them while music is playing. I first discovered them a few years ago when I spotted the JBL Pulse, which was priced at nearly $400 at the time. Now, you can find it for under $200, but it’s still pricey especially considering how many inexpensive speakers are out there like the SUNG-LL Bluetooth Wireless Speaker.
This wireless speaker is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 technology and is fully compatible with all Bluetooth-enabled devices (v2.1 and over). The speaker is rechargeable and will last for about 5 hours of playtime (longer on standby). The speaker features a built-in 88 three-color RGB LED lights that pulse with the music. There are actually five different light modes to choose from. Another important feature to note is that the speaker has a built-in microphone so that you can listen to music and take phone calls without having to disconnect from the speaker. In addition to connecting through Bluetooth, you can also plug your device in through a 3.5mm aux jack.
The SUNG-LL Bluetooth Wireless Speaker connected very easily to my mobile phone. When I turned the speaker on, I heard a voice prompt that let me know the speaker was in pairing mode. I have an iPhone so all I had to do was go to my Bluetooth menu option in Settings and select the new device to pair. The two devices paired within a few seconds and I turned on some music to find out how well it would show off the lights.
The track I played was actually acapella, which sometimes doesn’t put off enough bass to make the lights bounce. As soon as I turned the volume up, I heard a wonderful clear sound coming from the speaker and the rectangular EQ-like lights bounced up and down with the track’s sound levels. The lights are very bright and they make a nice display.
I’ve actually be fortunate to be able to test out a few ‘light show’ Bluetooth speakers and this one is one of the better examples of it. It’s a little different in the sense that the lights appear as rigid blocks rather than a fluid pattern. I continue to be very impressed with the speaker’s sound quality and how well it functions. It’s a very fun speaker and it puts out a great sound.
