STI:L Urban Knight iPhone 6 Case brings high fashion to the case’s function.
For the past couple of weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to test out a very special case for my iPhone. The Urban Knight case from STI:L is one of their many high fashion case designed from a sense of creating individuality. While I consider myself a connoisseur of iPhone cases – I’ve tested nearly ever shape and kind there is – I have never had a case like this on my phone. The STI:L brand comes from a company that has a rich history from manufacturer Newvit.
As I mentioned, this case was like no other I’ve tested before. Starting with the packaging, there is an interior plastic bubble that contains the case. Surrounding the bubble is a firm cardboard border. This packaging is unique in itself because of how you have to get the case out of it. There was one thing that really stuck out about the packaging to me – the case was labeled as the EVASION model case and not the URBAN KNIGHT case. The only reason I was able to find out it was the wrong case was because I tracked down the case on STI:L’s website. Another unique feature of the the STI:L case was that it came with a Certificate of Authenticity with a serial number for the product. With this number, you can verify that your product is an authentic STI:L case. I’ve never had a phone case have a serial number before.
Now, on to the case.
The Urban Knight is a two-part case. It’s designed to look like a knight’s chain mail and with the criss-cross pattern that both pieces have, it certainly gives off that impression. The inner piece is a flexible TPU that wraps around the iPhone’s naturally shape. If it weren’t cut out, it would be a simple bumper case. The outer layer is constructed from aluminum. The two pieces snap together and rests pretty gently on the phone.
I am one user who prefers a functional case over one that looks nice, but this high fashion case really doesn’t have much of a protection function. It is a stylish case that provides some individuality for phones that are a dime a dozen. One big complaint I typically have with cases is that they can’t be used with standard charging docks. The same is true of the Urban Knight. So, at the end of the day, I have to detach the entire case before setting my phone on the dock.
The Urban Knight case is a very interesting case. If you are looking for a high fashion case, this will be right up your alley. For me, I prefer a case that has more function than style.
