Unboxing and Assembly
The box can be a bit heavy for some individuals; at 55 lbs, it is somewhat awkward to carry. It would have been helpful if handles were included on the box for easier transport. The chair consists of multiple pieces, but no space is wasted—everything has its designated spot and is well organized in the Styrofoam cutouts inside the box. I pulled out the instructions to begin assembling the chair. Each piece comes with step-by-step guidance. Sihoo includes all the necessary tools and screws to put the chair together, but using an Allen bit and a drill can speed up the process. The instructions were simple to follow, though I opted for video directions midway through the assembly. It took me 34 minutes to complete the setup.
Usage
After setting up the chair, I moved it to my desk. The wheels glide effortlessly on the carpet; however, I opted for an office chair mat to make sliding around even easier. The chair is adjustable in nearly every way to ensure a perfect fit for most users. Unfortunately, the recline feature does not offer the same level of adjustment as the other features. You have only three locking angles: fully reclined, halfway reclined, and upright. I would have preferred the option to lock it in any position, as with other chairs I’ve reviewed.
The seat is very comfortable, and the dynamic lumbar support moves with you as you recline, preventing back fatigue caused by a lack of lumbar support. The chair can also be adjusted up and down via a gas lift. You can set the seat depth (how far the cushion is pushed in or out), all of which is conveniently controlled by a single handle located on the right side of the chair. I set the backrest to its middle position, as I am not at the maximum height of the chair. After that, I adjusted the headrest to support my neck during long work sessions.
The headrest is also adjustable in several ways to enhance comfort. The armrests are by far my favorite feature of the chair. The adjustments are both intuitive and innovative, allowing for six different ways to customize each armrest, even allowing your elbows to rest close to your stomach. With this level of adjustment, it’s a perfect fit for me, as I often change positions while seated.
Conclusion
At first, I thought $609.99 was a high price for this chair for the average consumer, despite its incredibly robust build quality. However, upon further reflection, I realized that this chair’s target market segment isn’t necessarily the average consumer. It’s designed for business professionals, office workers, or anyone who needs to spend significant time in an office chair. For these individuals, it is an incredible deal on a chair that will last a long time.
All of the components of the chair are made from plastic and metal. However, the thick plastic used is heavy and sturdy, which is exactly what you want for a quality chair. This means the chair will endure over time. A few enhancements I would like to see in the next model include handles on the box for easier transportation, a fully adjustable recline feature, and a built-in footrest.
