User Experience
Setting up the Satechi ChargeView 240W Desktop Charger was about as easy as it gets. There isn’t really any setup involved beyond putting it on the included stand and plugging it in. I really like that I can position it either horizontally or vertically, depending on how I want it to fit into my workspace.
The charger also doesn’t take up much space. Its footprint is about what I’d expect from a small dock or something like an Apple TV, so it doesn’t feel like I’m giving up a large chunk of my desk just to have a dedicated charging station. The stand feels sturdy in both orientations, too, so I never had any concerns about it tipping over or moving around.
I also really like the Space Black finish. It gives the charger a sleek, understated look, and it fits especially well with my Apple devices. It looks like it belongs on a modern desktop rather than looking like another bulky power accessory.
Charging Performance

Of course, charging speeds can vary depending on the device, battery temperature, current battery level, and what the device is doing while it’s charging, so I wouldn’t use these numbers as an indication of the maximum charging speed of either device. They do, however, give a good idea of what I experienced during normal testing.
LCD Display
The LCD display is probably the feature that initially caught my attention, and after using it for a while, I found that it is actually useful. I like being able to glance over at the charger and see how much power is being used rather than simply knowing that my devices are plugged in. The display is also surprisingly easy to read. I tested it with a light shining directly toward it, and I could still see the information without having to move around or get closer to the charger.
Everyday Use
The ChargeView 240W has definitely made charging more convenient at my desk, although it hasn’t completely eliminated cable clutter. Since you have to provide your own USB-C cables, using all six ports means you could potentially have six cables running across your desk.
