Rise will help you start your day in a unique way.
I’m a snoozer. That is how I would describe myself. In the morning, I hit the snooze button on the alarm clock at least twice. Sometimes, if I’m particularly stubborn, it will be more. I’ve tried every method I’ve ever heard of to break myself of this habit, but there is no use. I’m a snoozer. One of the things that frustrates me with alarm clocks is the inability to set the amount of snooze you get. The Apple Alarm is an automatic 9 minutes. That’s a bit much for my taste. I’d much rather have a snooze around 5 minutes or so. Luckily for me, there is an app for that.
Rise is an iOS app designed for people who would like an alarm clock, but don’t like the hassle of setting it or dealing with a snooze that is preset. Rise is a beautifully designed, easy to use alarm clock.
By using the iPhone and iPod Touch’s natural gestures, Rise allows users to set the time by dragging the screen to pick a wake up time and turning the alarm on or off by swiping the screen.
Another charming feature of this app is the ability to choose your alarm sound. The app comes preloaded with about a dozen different tones and Rise is also integrated with your iTunes library so that you can use your favorite song to wake up in the morning. Additionally, Rise will also help you fall asleep by playing Sleep Tunes, a playlist that you customize from your own library. This will only play for 30 minutes while you are trying to fall asleep.
If you are a snoozer like me, or just looking for a non-traditional alarm clock, give Rise a try.
NOTE: Rise does not override ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode on the iPhone. So if you plan on using Rise as your alarm, make sure that Do Not Disturb does not interfere with it.
