A feature-packed curved gaming monitor that delivers smooth performance and rich visuals without draining your wallet.

The HROTHGAR GM32 32″ 180Hz Curved Gaming Monitor is one of the latest and most impressive displays released by Redragon, a company that’s already well-known in the gaming community for making quality yet budget-friendly accessories—especially their wide range of mechanical and RGB gaming keyboards. With the GM32, they’ve stepped into the display market with a strong offering geared toward gamers who want speed, immersion, and convenience without breaking the bank.

This 32-inch curved monitor is designed to enhance the gaming experience, especially for FPS, racing, and immersive open-world games. The 180Hz refresh rate is a standout feature here—it makes gameplay feel smooth, snappy, and more responsive than your standard 60Hz or even 120Hz panels. I’ve found it makes a noticeable difference, especially in fast-paced titles.

Its curve helps me save a bit of desk space, which is a bonus in my setup where every inch counts. The curvature also adds to the immersion, pulling me into the action and minimizing distortion around the edges. With 2 HDMI ports, 2 DisplayPorts, and a USB-A port, this monitor is flexible enough to be a central hub for multiple devices—from PCs to consoles and even tablets. It ships with a stand, but I chose to mount it using a VESA 100x100mm compatible arm, which was easy to do and gives me more freedom in adjusting the monitor’s position.

Key Features

  • QHD 2K (2560×1440) VA Panel – Delivers sharp visuals and deep contrast
  • 180Hz Refresh Rate – Ultra-smooth gameplay, great for competitive FPS games
  • 1.76ms Response Time – Reduces motion blur and ghosting for clean visuals
  • FreeSync/G-Sync Compatible – Smooth tear-free gaming with AMD or NVIDIA GPUs
  • 3500:1 Contrast Ratio – Rich blacks and vibrant color reproduction
  • Flicker-Free Tech – Reduces eye fatigue during extended gaming sessions
  • Multi-Port Hub – 2x HDMI 2.0, 2x DisplayPort 1.4, USB-A for easy connectivity
  • VESA Mount Ready (100x100mm) – Ideal for custom setups or multi-monitor rigs

Unboxing and Setup

Out of the box, Redragon has done a good job with packaging—the monitor was well-protected with styrofoam and wrapped in plastic, so everything arrived in perfect shape. Inside the box, you’ll find a few Redragon stickers (nice touch), the monitor stand, power cable, and a DisplayPort cable.

The assembly was straightforward. I personally skipped the included stand and went straight for mounting it on a VESA-compatible monitor arm, which was simple to do with the included screws. It only took a few minutes to get it mounted and adjusted.

Plugged into my Thunderbolt dock via DisplayPort, it fired up right away. The onboard settings menu is easy to navigate with physical buttons on the back. I took some time tweaking settings—turning on Game Mode, enabling the built-in crosshair (a nice little feature for FPS players), and adjusting color warmth and brightness to my liking.

General Usage & Gaming Experience

To test it out, I jumped into one of my go-to games: Call of Duty Mobile, which I play through a REDMAGIC tablet that outputs to the monitor. It runs beautifully at up to 144Hz, and the visuals are incredibly crisp for a mobile title. Initially, I had to reposition the monitor a few times to find that perfect sweet spot—curved monitors do need to be angled just right to avoid any color distortion, but once set, it looked fantastic.

Gameplay was fluid. I noticed a definite improvement in motion clarity and responsiveness compared to my older monitor. Even in chaotic matches with lots of movement, the screen held up—no stuttering, no lag, no screen tearing. The colors popped, especially with Game Mode enabled, and dark scenes in maps like Nuketown or Shipment still had great detail thanks to the VA panel’s high contrast.

I also tested Call of Duty Warzone on my PC to push the monitor even further. Warzone makes better use of the monitor’s full 180Hz potential, and the gameplay experience was absolutely top-tier. Everything felt smooth, with precise motion tracking and little to no input lag.

Redragon HROTHGAR GM32 Monitor

One feature I kept enabled across all games was the built-in crosshair overlay. It may seem minor, but it gives a surprising edge when playing shooters where ADS (aim down sights) takes time. It helps with flick shots and lining up enemies quickly, especially when you’re running SMGs or shotguns.

After several hours of continuous gameplay, the monitor never got hot or showed any performance issues. No flickering, no dead pixels, and the flicker-free tech really seems to help during long sessions—my eyes didn’t feel as strained as they do with other monitors.

Pricing

Conclusion

The Redragon HROTHGAR GM32 32″ 180Hz Curved Gaming Monitor has truly exceeded my expectations in almost every area. For gamers who are looking for a high-performance monitor without the high-end price tag, the GM32 is an excellent option. Redragon has delivered a strong product that competes well with other monitors in this price range, offering a premium experience without the premium cost.

The 180Hz refresh rate is the standout feature, offering an ultra-smooth and responsive gaming experience, particularly for fast-paced FPS titles. Combined with the 1.76ms response time and the FreeSync/G-Sync compatibility, the GM32 ensures a tear-free, fluid gameplay experience, whether you’re playing on your PC or console. The VA panel offers stunning contrast, with deep blacks and vibrant colors that enhance both gaming and general media consumption.

The ease of setup and mounting options make this monitor a breeze to integrate into any desk setup. Additionally, the built-in features like the crosshair overlay and Game Mode are appreciated as little touches that show Redragon’s attention to detail for serious gamers. After hours of use, I didn’t experience any overheating, flickering, or eye strain, thanks to its flicker-free technology—something I value during those long gaming sessions.

Redragon HROTHGAR GM32 Monitor

If you’re considering upgrading your monitor for a better gaming experience, the HROTHGAR GM32 should definitely be on your radar. It offers incredible value with its rich feature set, smooth gameplay, and immersive display. Whether you’re a casual gamer or looking to level up your competitive gaming, the GM32 delivers impressive performance at a price point that won’t break the bank.

That being said, no product is without its drawbacks. While the GM32 is a solid choice for most gamers, there are a few things to keep in mind when making your purchase. The 32-inch size may feel a bit large for smaller desk setups, and its resolution (QHD) may not be as sharp as some 4K panels out there for those looking for the absolute best pixel density. But for what it offers in terms of refresh rate, contrast, and gaming features, it’s tough to beat for the price.
