Thermos for iOS Receives Update
Earlier this week, we published a review for Thermos, a widget for iOS and Mac that allows users to control their Nest Thermostat from Notification Center. Later this week, Thermos developer Deviate, released an update that brings Thermos to version 1.1. In this update, Thermos gains the ability to support Heat • Cool mode with Nest. It also includes design optimizations and reliability improvements.
Windows 10 Announced
Microsoft Corp. announced the next version of its Windows operating system. Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for current Windows users. The OS will be delivered as a service to offer a safer, innovative and updated experience for the supported lifetime of the device.
“Windows 10 marks the beginning of the more personal computing era in the mobile-first, cloud-first world,” said Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft. “Our ambition is for the 1.5 billion people who are using Windows today to fall in love with Windows 10 and for billions more to decide to make Windows home.”

Apple 2015 First Quarter Call Scheduled for January 27
Apple is set to announce its first quarter earnings in a call scheduled for Tuesday, January 27. Apple will provide live audio streaming of its FY First Quarter Results Conference call using QuickTime®. The live webcast will begin at 2:00 p.m. PST and can be found by visiting this link: www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/earningsq115. The call will be available through February 10. Streaming audio requires iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch® running iOS 4.2 or above, a Mac® running OS X 10.6.8 or above or a PC running QuickTime 7 or later.
