RAVPower Super-C battery makes it possible to charge and transfer data at the same time.

One of the most frequent devices I review is portable battery chargers. They are very useful and anyone who has a mobile device can benefit from having one. I have a pretty diverse collection of them at this point so finding a battery that has a unique feature is sometimes hard to come by. RAVPower, a one-stop power charging solution company, has a wonderful portable charger that includes data transfer as one of its features – the Super-C Series 20100mAh Portable Charger.

The Super-C battery is a 20100mAh power bank that features USB-C charging as well as USB 3.0 and the RAVPower iSmart charging technology as well as the data transfer option. I really like RAVPower batteries because they are consistently good products. As I mentioned, I’ve used a lot of portable batteries and some of them only work a few times while others never work. All the RAVPower batteries I’ve used have been winners and have worked wonderfully. The same is true for this Super-C battery. Here are some of the details for the charger.

  • iSmart Technology intelligently detects the charging needs of connected devices and automatically delivers the output needed for complete efficiency. This technology helps to prevent damage to device being charged with it. The Super-C battery features iSmart 3.0, which includes the data transfer option. Note: Data transfer is possible while connecting the iSmart 3.0 USB output and the Type-C port only.
  • USB Type-C provides an option for you to charge USB-C devices, including the Apple MacBook and new MacBook Pro, from the Super-C battery. The Type-C output equals an Apple 30W charger output. RAVPower included a short Micro USB cable and a USB-C adapter with the Super-C.
  • Large Capacity allows you to charge your devices more off of a single charge. With a capacity of 20100mAh you can charge an iPhone 7 Plus (2900mAh total capacity) a little more than 7 times on a full charge. The battery has a 4-light LED indicator to let you know when you need to recharge it.

In addition to these main features, the Super-C also offers several methods for you to charge. It has one 2A Micro USB input port, one USB-C port, and two 2.4A standard USB ports that you can use for any USB compatible devices. With the iSmart technology working behind the scenes, you don’t have to worry about your devices being over charged.

Like most people, I tried out this battery primarily with my phone. There were a couple of times when I worked my way down to less than 10% of a battery charge and had to plug it in. So, I grabbed the Super-C and plugged my iPhone in. One of those times, the battery was at 4% when I plugged it in. Within less than 40 minutes, the phone had a charge of 85%. That’s a little more than 2% charge increase every minute, which is superior to most other batteries I have. I did have a new 2016 MacBook Pro to try out with this battery. I found that it worked beautifully, but you have to leave it plugged in for a few minutes before the battery kicks into charging mode for the laptop. I also tried this out with an HP Spectre laptop and it did not work. I only mentioned this because there are some devices that won’t want to be charged by a battery.
