An efficient fast charger for iPhones.
Starting with the iPhone 12 series of smartphones, Apple no longer includes a power adapter along with their phones. Apple has done this to help reduce its carbon footprint. The only issue is that some Apple users are now left without a way to take advantage of fast charging with their iPhones. Fortunately, RAVPower has a great 2-port power adapter at a modest price. I’ve been a fan of RAVPower products for many years and can say that they haven’t let me down yet.
DETAILS
The RAVPower 40W 2-Port iPhone Fast Charger is designed to provide up to 20W of power from each of its USB-C ports. This allows the user to power to iPhone 12 model smartphones efficiently. When only one port is used, the device will receive up to 30W of power, which is enough to power an iPad Pro or a MacBook Air. The power adapter has been designed with safety in mind and will keep connected devices safe from over-voltage, over-heating, and short-circuiting. It’s meant to be easy to travel with, too. The adapter’s prongs fold into the unit so that it can be packed away easily. The power adapter is packaged together with a user guide and it’s compatible with many devices including the iPhone 12/12 Mini/12 Pro/12 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy S21/ S20/ Note 20, and iPad Pro 2020/ Macbook Air 13.3”/ Nintendo Switch/ Airpods Pro/ Pixel 5.

USER EXPERIENCE
The RAVPower 40W 2-Port iPhone Fast Charger comes in a simple RAVPower-branded box. It’s not much larger than the product itself. The box has the RAVPower logo on the front along with the name of the product. The back of the box features some basic details about the company and the model number of the product. Other than that, there aren’t a lot of details on the box. When you open the box, you will find the power adapter, the user manual, which includes safety information and some specs on the charger, and a warranty card. This is one of the things that I appreciate about RAVPower – they don’t overdo it when it comes to packaging. The box is just enough to get the job done.

Because this is a simple power adapter, the operation of the product is pretty self-explanatory. You plug your cable into one of the ports and then plug the adapter into a power outlet. The connected device starts charging automatically. I didn’t find any issues with the way the power adapter works. It didn’t seem to get hot after charging my iPhone and I really like how compact the charger is. It’s a standard size for a 2-port power adapter and it’s lightweight. So, it’s very easy to toss into a laptop bag or carry-all for use on the road.
To test the charger out, I plugged my iPhone 12 Pro into one of the ports using a Lightning to USB-C cable from Apple. When I test chargers, I will let a device charge for 30 minutes and note the battery percentage every 10 minutes. With this RAVPower charger, my iPhone gained 24% within the 30-minute time period. That’s a charging rate of 0.8% per minute, which is exceptionally fast in comparison to other chargers I’ve used.

CONCLUSION
I’ve been really happy with the performance of this charger and think it’s a great option for iPhone users to be able to charge their phones efficiently. The charger is modestly priced at around $25 (at the time of publishing) and I feel that it’s a worthy investment.
