Battery pack and Lightning Cable – match made in heaven.
While it might seem excessive to some, I really like the higher capacity battery packs that have become available in the past couple of years. It’s refreshing and somewhat relieving to be using a battery and know that you aren’t going to run out of juice right in the middle of a job or traveling. I have tested out large capacity batteries before, but none like the RAVPower 22000mAh External Battery Pack with Triple iSmart technology built-in.
I have a lot of faith in RAVPower products. Batteries are one of those products that you want to be cautious about purchasing online, but RAVPower really makes a quality product. The 22000mAh External Battery Pack provides enough charge for the user to go a full week on one charge and it comes in a fire-resistant case. Based off of the specs alone, you could get 11 full charges for your iPhone 7 with the battery being at its full capacity. Personally, I could actually keep my iPhone away from an outlet for an entire week and just use the RAVPower battery to charge it. With the battery being such a large capacity, it does take a long time – 10-11 hours – to recharge it fully. So, plan to plug it in overnight when you don’t need it.
There are three USB 2.0 ports for charging. They are iSmart ports, which means the ports intelligently detect the charging needs of connected devices and automatically delivers the output needed for complete efficiency. The charging ports offer a total current output of 5.8A (2.4A maximum per port) and you can charge devices simultaneously — up to three devices at one time. In addition to knowing how to charge the devices that are plugged in, the iSmart technology automatically adjusts current and voltage so that it doesn’t overcharge devices.
As a test, I plugged my iPhone 7 into one of the smart ports on the RAVPower battery and let it charge for approximately 20 minutes. My phone gained 18% power, which is a little less than 1% per minute. That’s in line with a lot of other portable battery packs. It’s a steady transfer rate and fast enough to really pull my phone out of a ‘danger zone’ if it’s low on power. I also loved that I didn’t notice any heat coming from the battery while it was charging my phone.
A really great add-on to the 22000mAh External Battery Pack is RAVPower’s Lightning Cables. I have a 2-pack of 3-foot long Lightning cables that are the perfect replacement for the original Apple Lightning Cable. I’ve used my RAVPower cable along with the external battery pack and found it to be ideal for charging and travel. RAVPower reinforced the cable (and bent it over 5000 times during testing) and ensured that it was heat resistant. It’s strong and extremely durable. One of the biggest pluses of the RAVPower cable is that its Lightning end is small enough to use with most cases. It was designed to mimic the original, but be stronger.
RAVPower once again achieves greatness with the Lighting cable and 22000mAh External Battery Pack. They are a match made in heaven.
