Streaming media service, Plex, continuing vision of becoming ‘go-to’ platform for media.
This morning streaming media company Plex announced the integration of web shows, furthering its vision to become the go-to platform for the media that matters most to you. Plex Web Shows (in Beta) is free (and does not require a media server or paid Plex subscription) and offers unlimited, on-demand streaming of some of the best-curated shows, available on any device you choose.
Today Plex is offering access to a multitude of web shows across a broad spectrum of interests, including food, home and garden, science and tech, entertainment, and pop culture. New content will be continuously added and included at launch are popular titles from independent creators, including Epic Meal Time, ASAPscience, Household Hacker, People are Awesome, and The Pet Collective, as well as content from other well-known brands such as GQ, Saveur, Epicurious, Pitchfork, and more.
The launch of web shows is another step for Plex toward their continued evolution to become one platform for all the media that matters most to you, and the overall best destination for online content – something they strongly believe consumers deserve as the volume of content (and content providers) continues to explode at an astronomical rate. While the availability of content has never been greater, discovering and simple, convenient access has never been more challenging.
Plex Web Shows joins the ranks of Plex Podcasts and Plex News as curated, free-to-all content that gets better the more you use it, offering customized recommendations based on what interests you. All of this sits alongside personal media collections that also include live TV and DVR’d programs – including your local news and sports broadcasts. It’s your media, your way.
