Picture Collage Maker 3 for Mac is a simple, but powerful photo editing tool.
My older brother is getting married in just a few days. It’s a very exciting time for my family and I was given the privilege of assisting with a family photograph montage video. It’s been amazing to see the all the family memories. Before getting them into order for the video, they were trapped in a box at my parents house and I’ve been thinking that it’s a shame they aren’t more easily accessible. This is where Picture Collage Maker for Mac comes in handy.
Picture Collage Maker for Mac is a photo collage creator from the developer of CollageIt Free, Pearl Mountain. Using Picture Collage Maker, you can create photo collages, scrapbooks, greeting cards, photo calendars, posters and more. Picture Collage Maker comes equipped with over 150 professional templates with more than 100 available in the Store at no charge. Each of these templates are completely customizable. You can changes sizes and shapes of photos within the template as well as the layout itself.
When I first opened the app, I was met with a selection menu of templates. Once I selected the template I liked the best for my collage, I was able to drag and drop photos from my iPhoto library. I also had the option of selecting photos from folders on my computer. I really liked that I could resize the photos inside the individual masks on the template. That was a very nice touch. After I was happy with the placement of my photos on the collage, I took a look at the backgrounds available to use and chose a new one. Once I was happy with the product, I moved to export.
Users have the option of printing, exporting or sharing finished products. I chose to export as a PNG file, but could have chosen to save out to PDF or even as a desktop picture. Users also have the option of sharing through Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, AirDrop or Message.
There are a lot of options for embellishment of collages. Because I used a pre-loaded template, I didn’t end up using the embellishments on this particular collage, but did play around with the options. It’s very easy to apply effects and filters onto images. There are over 20 different photo effects/filters available. Text and calendars can also be added to projects.
I have been and continue to be infinitely impressed with how powerful, but easy to use this app is. Within minutes, I was able to transform 10 photographs into a lovely collage worthy of display at a family gathering.
Picture Collage Maker for Mac recently updated to version 3.0 on October 17, 2013. It supports Mac OS X 10.6 or later and is fully compatible with 10.8 (Mountain Lion). It is available for purchase ($19.99 USD) through the Mac App Store.
