2012 has been a great year. We’ve has some ups, downs and surprises. Here are my top three favorite apps for 2012. Below you will also see Robyn’s top three apps of 2012.
1Password: This app is the first thing I install on all my machines. Thanks to 1Password, I can keep all my private text private. It allows me to securely store all my passwords, logins, credit cards and even software keys in one place. Before 1Password, I was making encrypted sparse bundles to keep my information secure. No more looking all over the place for the thirty Sparse bundles. I can now just look to any of my iOS or OSX devices to find everything I need.
Tweetbot: I love Twitter. I find more info from using Twitter on a daily basis then I do searching the web. Don’t get me wrong Twitter has a cool app, but Tapbot has the best Twitter app around. I can easly slide down on my iPhone or iPad to tweet but I get such a better experience when opening Tweetbot. If you use Twitter you should really give it a try.
Pandabar: The app sits in finder giving you all the controls of Pandora without having the page open in a browser window. You have all the controls right at your finger tips because your Mac’s keyboard will control the songs the same way it does when using iTunes. Before Pandabar, I had stopped using Pandora because I disliked having Safari open to play. Now, I can enjoy Pandora music without the use of Safari.

Pinterest: Social Networking got a revamp this year with the introduction of Pinterest to the world. The site seemed to be made for iPad and it was only a matter of time before an app was released for it. An interactive way to share ideas and creative concepts with friends, family and even perfect strangers, Pinterest is an online pin board that is continuously growing with thoughts and designs.
Angry Birds Star Wars: I have long been a fan of Angry Birds and was raised on Star Wars. When the two came together, I couldn’t resist the force-like pull to purchase the app. It’s great fun and has a lot of inside jokes built in for the Star Wars fans. Each bird is a character from the series and it wouldn’t be complete without Luke-bird’s ability to chop Storm Trooper pigs in half with a light saber.
Retail Me Not: There are dozens of coupon apps available, but Retail Me Not definitely sets the bar high. This app is a newer acquisition for me, but it has already saved me money. I was doing some last minute Christmas shopping and realized I was in a store that almost always had coupons available, but I didn’t think to check the paper before leaving home. I pulled out my trusty iPhone and started up Retail Me Not. A few screen taps later, I had saved myself 25%! It’s a must have.
