Design and Build

The OpenRock Pro earbuds come in a sleek black and silver design. They feature a hooked design that sits over and around the top of your ear, with the speakers positioned slightly ahead of your ear. This design ensures that the earbuds stay in place even during intense workouts, although some users have reported that they can feel a bit loose during sweatier exercises.

Sound Quality

One of the standout features of the OpenRock Pro is its Tube Bass technology, which enhances low frequencies to deliver a punchy, bass-heavy sound profile. This makes them great for genres like hip-hop, EDM, and rock. However, the audio quality might not be up to par for audiophiles, as the sound can sometimes struggle in louder environments.

Battery Life

The OpenRock Pro boasts an impressive battery life. The earbuds alone can last up to 19 hours on a single charge, and with the included charging case, the total playtime extends to 46 hours. This makes them a great option for long-distance runners, hikers, and anyone who needs extended use without frequent recharging.

Comfort and Fit

These earbuds are designed to be comfortable for extended wear. They are lightweight and fit well, making it easy to forget you’re wearing them. Made with a smooth plastic and a skin safe silicone protecting a steel wire that will help make sure they are a perfect fit for each user. The IPX5 waterproof rating ensures they can withstand sweat and light rain, but they might not be suitable for swimming.

Additional Features

The OpenRock Pro includes physical controls on the earbuds unlike the sometimes-finicky haptic controls, allowing you to play/pause music, adjust volume, and handle calls. They also support Bluetooth 5.2 for a stable wireless connection and quick pairing with devices.

Price

You can get your hands on these by going straight to the OpenRock website and getting them directly for a list price of $149.99 but they are currently on sale for $119.99.

If you prefer to use Amazon you can always check there also, they have a list price of $129.99, but currently on sale for $101.90.

User Experience

I had recently had my hands on a different brand inexpensive option for an open ear style earbud and it had me intrigued so when I had the opportunity to Gove the open rock pros a listen, I was happy take them for a test drive.  As soon as I opened the box the first thing, I noticed was how big the charging case was, much larger than any in ear I have owned.

The case is stylish and has a nice design to it and the ear buds have a modern sleek look paired with a chrome badge and a solid comfortable feel especially for the price. Now that I have them out of the case the pairing was extremely easy, with a quick connect for fast and seamless pairing or a button on the bottom to manually enter pair mode.

One thing I did find that I was unpleased with is that the app doesn’t support the pro model so you don’t have any audio equalizers. The sound is surprisingly crisp, there were times during a podcast or TV show that I was having a hard time deciphering what was real and not as they just seamlessly input the sound without any blocking of the outside world. That being said, they are not good for loud environments, not unless you plan on wearing earmuffs over them but then that defeats the point of them in my opinion.
