I’ve struggled for several years to find the right chair for me. It can be very difficult because I’ve had three surgeries on my left knee, and two surgeries on my left foot and my right knee has been dislocated before. Needless to say, finding comfort can be elusive for me. Not too long ago, I decided that a chair with a built-in footrest would be the best bet and I’ve also had issues with overheating in chairs made with leather or any other solid material. User Experience

If you’ve ever ordered or purchased an office chair, you will know that it does not come preassembled. Fortunately, if you’ve put together one, you’ve typically put together all of them since they all have similar pieces and parts that fit together in similar ways.

While there are some nuances, this is the typical manner in which an office chair is assembled. The OdinLake Ergo Max 747 weighs more than 50 pounds, which can be a little difficult for some people to handle. The box it arrives in is quite large and I recommend pulling each piece out, unwrapping it, and inspecting it before throwing the shipping materials away. First of all, you want to make sure you have everything you need. And second, you want to make sure it’s all in good working order.

After you have the parts laid out, review the instruction manual and start connecting all the pieces. This chair comes with a set of gloves, which I’ve found do come in handy — especially when handling the hydraulic post, which usually has grease on it. I was also impressed that the hex wrench that was included had a handle attached. This comes in very handy when assembling furniture like this.

The instructions were easy to follow, but there was one thing I noticed that needed a better explanation. The first step is to Insert the Casters into each end of the Base. The second step is to Insert the gas life into the base. There is no mention of removing the plastic cover from the tip of the caster. This is essential as the caster won’t snap into place if they aren’t removed. Since I have assembled several office chairs like this one I noticed the caps right away, but someone else may not. Aside from that, I didn’t have any issues with the assembly process.

Using the chair wasn’t difficult. The headrest was easy to adjust with one hand and I found the rest of the adjustment controls self-explanatory. The footrest was a little more difficult to use than some other built-in footrests I’ve seen. I did have to use two hands to slide it in and out, but it was comfortable when it was used.

I really liked the reclining angle on this chair. It has a maximum tilt of 130º which is the perfect reclining angle to relax in with your feet propped up. I sat in this chair for long gaming sessions as well as working at my desk and while I did find it comfortable, I did start to have some excess leg pain after using the chair for long periods of time. This isn’t a design flaw of the chair and is probably isolated to my personal use case, but it’s something I wanted to mention since other people could potentially have similar issues.
