The ideal travel companion to ensure your devices are powered.
One of my biggest headaches when I’m on the go is keeping my devices powered. On top of that, I hate having to lug around giant power adapters just to make sure I have the right amount of power delivery to my devices. This is why I’m so excited to test out the Nomad Slim GaN Power Adapters. There are two versions — 35W and 65W.

About Nomad Slim GaN Power Adapters
Designed with GaN technology, both the 65W and 35W Slim Power Adapters are designed to charge all your devices from the slimmest possible body. Their slim form fits into the tightest spaces and help to declutter setups at home and on the road. These adapters are up to 3 times more efficient than silicon-based ones since they use gallium nitride (GaN).
The 35W Slim Power Adapter is powerful enough to provide a fast charge to an iPhone as well as power a MacBook Air. The 65W version features the ProCharge power philosophy and is able to direct maximum power to either port when charging a single device. When charging two devices, ProCharge automatically reroutes power to both ports, delivering 45W to the high-speed left port and 20W to the right port.
Main Features
- 35W or 65W Power Output
- Dual USB-C PD Ports
- ProCharge Power Philosophy
- Built with GaN technology
- Ultra-slim design
- Flip out prongs

Pricing & Availability
The 35W Slim Power Adapter is available for $35 and the 65W version is available for $65. At this time, the Slim Power Adapters are only being sold on nomadgoods.com.
User Experience
Nomad always does a fantastic job with packaging. The boxes of the power adapters are small but very sturdy. Nomad prides themselves on being Carbon Neutral since 2020 and the “Climate Neutral Certified” emblem is stamped on the back of these boxes. There is a full color image of the charger on the front and back — with an additional ProCharge diagram on the 65W charger.

I consider the 65W charger to be the big brother of the 35W charger. It’s just a bit larger than the 35W version and it has an additional USB-C port on it. If only one port is used on the 65W charger, then the device that’s connected gets a full 65W power delivery. If there are two devices, the blue port provides 45W while the other port provides 20W.
I am very impressed with the form factor of these chargers. Aside from being long — meaning they might cover a wall outlet if plugged into the top outlet — the slim nature of these chargers are ideal for travel. They can quite literally be stored or carried anywhere. They don’t take up as much space as a chunky power brick or block does and they are super light. With the 35W charger, it wouldn’t be any trouble to slip it along with a cable into a pocket when you are on the go.

To test these out, I plugged the 35W charger into a wall outlet and charged an iPhone 14 Pro. In 10 minutes it gained 22% battery — or a 2.2% per minute charging rate. Then, I plugged my MacBook Air (2020, M1) into it to see if it would accept it as a power source. It immediately chimed as it was plugged in and the battery utility noted that the laptop was plugged into a power adapter and charging.
I ran similar tests with the 65W Slim Power Adapter. It worked well to charge my iPad and a Dell XPS 13 Laptop, which only required a 60W power adapter. I didn’t have any compatibility issues with the chargers and they didn’t get overly hot when charging either.

Conclusion
In my opinion, the Slim GaN Power Adapters by Nomad are the answer to my packing prayers. I am forever packing too many things but since I want to be prepared — especially for power needs — these space-saving adapters are perfect for that purpose. They provide the right amount of power in the right size package.
