A better experience every day. And night.
Apple software engineers put a lot of thought and consideration into how and when people use their iOS devices. There is a wide range of improvements to iOS native apps as well as some new additions. Developers also designed a way for iOS to help you get a better night’s sleep. In addition to general updates, there are some features included that make using the iPad in schools a better experience for students and admins.
This feature uses the iOS device’s clock and geolocation to determine when it’s sunset in your location. Then it automatically shifts the colors in your display to the warmer end of the spectrum, making it easier on your eyes. In the morning, it returns the display to its regular settings. This was done based off of many studies that show bright blue light in the evening can effect circadian rhythms and make it harder to fall asleep. This is just one more way that Apple is helping to improve the way we live.n
Starting with iOS 9.3, users will be able to keep their notes secure by locking down the app with a password or fingerprint. Notes will also be able to be sorted by date created, date modified or alphabetically.
A more personalized News experience is also in the works for iOS users. Articles in the For You section will be better tailored for the user’s particular interests. For You suggests trending topics and Editors’ Picks.
Apple has included an easier way to find third-party apps for health and wellness. Certain categories within the Health app now have a new slider menu that reveals apps that can be installed into your Health dashboard.
Some new features have been added for CarPlay within iOS 9.3 including New and For You from Apple Music — with songs, artists, and albums handpicked by experts, plus selections based on your preferences— are right at hand on your screen.
