Become more efficient around the house with this cleaning machine.

For years I’ve had to deal with juggling the vacuum and cord as I move through the house cleaning. It gets very frustrating and I hate having to jockey the plug between outlets because it’s obviously not long enough to stretch through the whole house. In the past couple of years, I’ve been intrigued by cordless vacuums especially the ones that are convertible (where it can be used in different scenarios like cleaning the car). This is why I gravitated toward the MOOSOO Cordless Vacuum. It’s a 4-in-1 vacuum that has cyclonic action and is supposed to be just as powerful as a corded vacuum.

DETAILS

The MOOSOO XL-618 Cordless Vacuum is designed to perform well on all types of flooring including hardwood, carpet, tile, and marble. The vacuum features an LED search headlight that illuminates cleaning areas and helps the user to find even the smallest amount of dust. The vacuum cleans floors using built-in nylon and soft bristles, which work on most flooring surfaces. The MOOSOO vacuum is multi-purpose. It can be used to vacuum in your car, on furniture, curtains, and more. The vacuum comes with a wall-mount for convenient storage. It also includes a washable HEPA filter and a cyclonic filtration system. This system captures allergens to purify the air and will remove up to 99.99% of microscopic dust particles as small as 0.1 microns. The vacuum is lightweight and only weighs 3.3 pounds. The battery has a capacity of 2200mAh, which provides up to 35 minutes of run time and will fully charge in 5 hours.

USER EXPERIENCE

The vacuum arrives in a fairly large box. There is a good amount of internal cushion packaging that provides protection for all the parts. Speaking of that, you do have to assembly this device. The vacuum comes in sections — the motor unit, stick, and head. There are additional attachments, but those three pieces make up the main vacuum. The motor unit detaches from the main body so that you can use it as a portable/handheld vacuum.

Assembly took approximately 5 minutes. Before I ran the vacuum for the first time, I made sure the battery was fully charged. You have the option of detaching the battery for charging or simply plugging the power adapter directly into it as it’s attached to the motor unit. The operation of the vacuum is easy. There is a trigger button on the motor unit section. When you click it once, the vacuum powers on with its lowest setting. If you click it again, it fires up into its ‘turbo’ setting and the third click will turn the vacuum off.

I started using the vacuum in our living room. The room is carpeted and it’s medium-thick. At first, it didn’t seem like the vacuum was even on. I started moving it around and it picked up a lot of visible surface debris. Because the vacuum didn’t feel as though it was producing a lot of power, I really wasn’t sure how much dust and inner dirt was being collected. After the living room, I moved into our kitchen/dining room area which is a hard surface (linoleum). I noticed that the vacuum did a lot better on the hard surface than the carpet. After a thorough once-over in that area, I moved to our front entry area which is a porcelain tile, but there is an area rug in that space. Again, the vacuum did a great job on the hard surface and I found on that thinner style of carpet, it was exceptional.

Once I finished vacuuming, I went to empty the trash compartment which is located on the motor unit. There is a simple switch that you press to open the trap door. Most of the loose debris falls out, but if there is any hair or thick dust collected on the filter assembly, you may need to pull it out by hand. Based on how the vacuum felt as I used it, I was surprised at how much trash was actually collected with my brief cleaning session.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I was impressed with how the vacuum performed overall, but I would recommend it for hard surfaces and thin/commercial-style carpet over one with a thicker pile.
