Premium Bluetooth Hi-Fi Over-the-Ear Headphones from Monoprice!
Over the years, I’ve had many different types of headphones. Wired or wireless – the most important features to me end up being sound quality, design and build quality. I want a durable, stylish headphone with exceptional sound. I have come across some headphones that fit the bill, but am still in search for the ‘perfect’ headphone.
Today, I got the opportunity to review a pair of Bluetooth headphones by Monoprice.
The Premium Bluetooth Hi-Fi Over-the-Ear Headphones from Monoprice are a wire-free, lightweight, comfortable option for taking your music with you. They come with high fidelity sound and the convenience of wireless Bluetooth technology. But, they aren’t nearly as expensive as some other Bluetooth over-the-ear headphones in the market.
Surprising for an over-the-ear headphone, the Monoprice Hi-Fi are extremely lightweight at only 10.0 oz and has a built in mic for taking phone calls and issuing commands to Siri. The Monoprice Hi-Fi are very easily paired with any Bluetooth device. I personally paired them with my iPhone, MacBook Pro and iPad and it worked flawlessly each time.
The HiFi has all of its button controls on the right earpiece and is quite easy to operate one-handed. The controls include, play/pause, volume up, volume down, skip track forward, skip track backward and a multipurpose button.
Another handy feature of the Monoprice Hi-Fi is the Micro SD Card slot. The Micro SD Card supports up to a 64 gig capacity card allowing mp3/wma playback. This makes it possible to use the headphones even when it’s not connected to a Bluetooth device. Simply insert a card and start listening. You can also plug an auxiliary cable into headphones to share your music with someone else.
Another thing I was very impressed with was the comfort of the headphones. At one point during testing I wore the headphones for an entire 8-hour day with no discomfort. The head band includes some extra padding for a soft fit around the skull and the ear pieces have plush comfort foam, too.
The Hi-Fi headphones have a built-in Lithium-polymer battery and they recharge via USB (up to 3-hours). Battery times include:
- Playback/Talk Time up to 20 hours
- Standby Time up to 325 hours
Monoprice might not be the first name when you think of when looking to buy an audio headset – I know it wasn’t for me, but let me tell you that after reviewing this device I can say I’m extremely excited with the products they have made and can recommend them to others with no hesitance.
As thrilled as I am with the Hi-Fi headphones, I do have a small concern – build quality. They seem to be constructed with solid materials, but since they are so lightweight, I wonder if the plastic frame will stand the test of time.
Unlike its competitors, the Monoprice Hi-Fi give you a wireless Bluetooth headphone decked out with A2DP, a built-in mic for phone calls and a Micro SD card slot that allows you to use the Hi-Fi when not connected via Bluetooth.
I honestly think for the price you won’t find a more feature-packed, comfortable, lightweight, well-designed headphone.
