Charging stand efficient solution for Apple Watch
Even though I am a fanboy of all things Apple, I waited quite some time to get an Apple Watch. While I do like the new method of charging (via induction), it’s yet another cord on my bedside table. Since the charging puck for the watch is magnetic, I don’t have to worry about plugging anything into the watch. But, just setting the Apple Watch charging puck down on my nightstand and flopping my watch on top of it looks sloppy and adds more clutter. I wanted a charging solution that holds the watch securely while clearing up the tangled mess of cords and charging blocks. So the search began. There are many different options out there. Did I want just a fancy stand that will still add another cord to the mix, not to mention the base of most stands tend to be bulky and take up quite a bit of precious desk or nightstand space? I have a charging station in my bedroom and on my desk so I don’t really have room anywhere else to add any extra devices.
What I do have room for is the MixMart Apple Watch Charging Stand, a three in one Apple Watch charging dock. Not only does it take up minimal space, but it also illuminates the need for one of my charging hubs because it has two USB charging slots on the outside in addition to the ability to charge your Apple Watch. This charging stand is fairly small which saves space on my desk. It’s only about 3 inches tall and 5 inches long, which is drastically smaller than my previous USB charging hub. While it only does give you two USB slots compared to the five USB slots I had previously, it really doesn’t impact me too much. Two to three of the USB slots on my previous charging hub went and used most of the time, but still had cables hooked up to it, making a tangled mess. Only using the two USB slots on there gives me a minimalist approach saving space and it didn’t look as jumbled together.
My favorite feature is that it hides the Apple Watch charging puck inside of its body. After placing the puck you feed the USB through a small hole on the side, pull off one of the side covers, and wind all the excess cord around and plug in the other end in the hidden USB slot on the inside. Once finished, you simply twist the outside cover on and forget about the tangled mess. You plug in the included power cord into the side with removable cover and plug into the wall and you’re ready to go. Another nice feature is the way that you actually charge your Apple Watch. I’ve seen a bunch of different solutions for this, but it mainly includes just simply hanging your Apple Watch on a hug or a cut out while I connect to the charging puck. The 3 in 1 is a cylindrical design so that you can wrap your watchband around the body of the charger and secure it with whatever class you have on your watchband, so even if you bump it or it gets moved around your watch stay securely on the charger and you never wake up to a dead battery.

After trying out several different charging solutions and designs I think I found my winner.
