I’ll admit to being a bit of a “judges books by their covers” type of girl, especially when it comes to products that are meant to be fashionable or stylish, so I initially had reservations about this Micro USB Bracelet Cable due to its packaging. I’ll not linger over this point, but there were typos, and that hurts me.

The product itself looks good. This bracelet rocks the minimalist look with a simple, flat band and a single metallic embellishment. I’m glad that I ended up with a white one, as it matches my phone and laptop (and Apple products in general). The USB and Micro USB plugs fit together and work as the bracelet’s fastener. This area is bulky compared to the rest of the band, and it’s a bit awkward, sitting as it does inside the wrist. That is the main design flaw, in my opinion. Other cord bracelets I’ve encountered have used the connector as the main decoration since that piece is necessarily the largest part of the band. That would also highlight the tech chic aspect of the product, since its main appeal is that it is both fashionable and practical.

On the practical side, this product worked like a charm. The bracelet features a slim USB and standard Micro USB on either end. It easily connected between my phone and computer, other computers, and my wall adapter. It had some issues with my portable charger (which I suspect is the charger’s fault and not the cord’s since this has happened before), but I otherwise did not have any issues with compatibility. The bracelet fastens snugly, both keeping the piece secure for wear and protecting the ends from dust.

All in all, despite my initial apprehension, this bracelet serves its dual purpose of being stylish and functional. If you’re the type of person who likes to accessorize and often find yourself in need of a charging cord while you’re out and about, give this USB charging line bracelet a try.

It has an MSRP of $15.99. For more information, visit maobos.com/html/Products/USB_cable.
