Smartwatch maker, Pebble, announced the release of the newest member of their product family, Pebble Steel.
Pebble Steel is the newest addition to the Pebble family. It’s a new, premium smart watch in a smaller, sleeker package that the Original Pebble. Pebble Steel has two finishes to choose from: Brushed Stainless and Black Matte. Both models are bundled with a metal band and black leather strap. Pebble Steel’s ePaper display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass lens. The housing also incorporates a RGB LED light to indicate the charging status. Pebble Steel is waterproof up to 5ATM.
“Our mission is clear,” says CEO Eric Migicovsky. “Create the gold standard for wearables that mesh perfectly with your everyday life, and build the fundamental ecosystem and platform for these devices.”
Pebble is taking orders for Pebble Steel starting today. Pebble Steel retails for $249 and orders will begin shipping on January 28.
Pebble’s app store will be available later this month and will live inside the iOS or Android app for Pebble.
Pebble also announced some new partners – Pandora, ESPN and Mercedes-Benz – that will bring more watch apps to the Pebble marketplace.
