- EASE OF USE
MagStand upgrades your streaming experience with a MagSafe Compatible Kickstand.
For those that travel regularly, I commend you on your patience and perseverance. From check-in to security to waiting in the terminal, to the claustrophobia-riddled cabin, etc., air travel has become more taxing. Although I have not traveled in the past five years, opting instead to travel via personal vehicle, I recently had to fly from North Carolina back to Kentucky to return to work.
I wanted to pack light, yet desired the ability to enjoy a few downloaded movies on my iPhone 13 Pro Max without having to prop the phone awkwardly against the seat back. Luckily, MagEasy had just the item that I needed. The only problem was, my son wanted it more!
The MagEasy MagStand arrived in a 3 5/8 inches wide by 4 3/4 inches tall by 3/4 inches thick hanging-style retail package. I liked the layout of the cover panel, the MagEasy name along the top right, the product name along the top left, and the helpful descriptive sentence about the product. The lower edge of the panel provided three detailed icons (Residual Free Sticker, Fold into a Stand, Support Magnetic Accessories), a top-down image of the attached device and accessory pop socket, and two warnings (Phone not included, Cases >0.7mm thickness may affect wireless charging).
The main focal point of the panel was the photo quality image of an obliquely angled iPhone with affixed MagStand. Both side panels provided the MagEasy name, while the top panel provided a black plastic hanging tab. The rear panel provided the company name along the top left, the same oblique phone image as the cover, but with a small change. The rear image added some background doors, shadowing, and labeled the image (ultra-thin high charging efficiency, Embedded special Rare Earth Magnetic Material, Fold into Convenient viewing stand, and Exquisite leather with comfortable feeling).
The lower segment of the panel provided a User Manual QR code, a list of box contents, a convenient compatibility list, product manufacturing labels, SKU barcode, and legal information. The clean white background paired nicely with the black font, and the colorful accent of the iPhone.
I lifted the top lid, removed the iPhone 12/12 Pro Max/12 Pro/12 Mini, iPhone 11/11 Pro/11 Pro Max alignment stickers, the multi-lingual instruction manual, installation collector/dry wipes, and the 0.5 ounces, 2 3/8 inches wide by 3 3/4 inches tall by 1/16 inches thick blue leather kickstand.
The leathery back surface had a 1 3/4 inches diameter MagSafe disk at the top of the panel and four geometric-shaped mount clips: dual 1-inch metallic equilateral triangles and dual distal 1 inches by 5/8 inches by 1-inch pseudotriangle magnetic segments. I liked the appearance, the feel, and the pleasing leathery aroma of the MagEasy Device. The easy installation and enhanced functionality made it even easier to enjoy.
Even though I set out to use the device with my iPhone 13 Pro Max, my son ended up using the device on his iPhone 11. To install the device, select the correct alignment sticker and attach it to your phone or case. Next, utilize the included dusting films/dry wipes to cleanse the surface of your phone/case. Remove the clear backing on the kickstand, align the stand with the installed mounting tape, and press the stand into the phone/case.
I caution you against pressing your fingers into the sticky black adhesive, as it can be a tad difficult to remove from your skin. If your installation process does not meet your need, you can remove the sticky low-residue adhesive and reaffix the stand to your phone/case.
To turn the device into a stand, gently lift up on mid-segment B, fold the two corners together, and then angle the central segment toward the direction you want to lean the phone. The non-adjustable design allowed for landscape viewing but provided limited customization for vertical viewing. We found that the device would not stand in a vertical position.
If I placed a measuring tape behind the phone/case and leaned the stand onto the device, it worked perfectly. We tested the MagSafe mount with a variety of MagSafe products and found that the device added a multifunctional MagSafe mounting option to my son’s iPhone 11. Additionally, we found that he was able to wirelessly charge the iPhone with the installed kickstand and case.
The three-in-one MagStand device will allow you to upgrade your phone with MagSafe accessories, charge your device wirelessly, and will add a convenient kickstand. You can add the device to the back of a phone or a case and can maintain the option to charge wirelessly without removing some thinner cases (0.7mm). Even though the setup did not include a mounting kit for the iPhone 13 Pro Max, I used the 12 Pro Max guide and found that I was able to use the kickstand and charge wirelessly.
Thus, the device should also work for the newest models of iPhones. For those with iPhone 11/11pro/11promax/12/12mini/Pro/12pro max, installation could not have been simpler. The included alignment stickers provided an easy method to center the adhesive of the MagStand. If you have ever tried to install a screen protector on a phone without an alignment guide, then you may understand how frustrating the process could be. Thankfully, MagEasy included several options for the iPhone 11/12 series of devices.
My son absolutely loved the kickstand and has since used the device to stream movies and vegetate with YouTube. He has used the stand with a MagEasy Car Mount and has charged his phone on my desktop Pitaka MagEZ slide. The included magnetic attachment prevented falls/drops while riding in my Dodge Ram and allowed for comfortable airplane viewing. My only complaint was that the device felt a tad expensive.
