Achieve a truly immersive gaming experience with the J-Link 34-inch Curved Gaming Monitor.
Ultrawide monitors have been gaining popularity over the past few years. On November 25, 2022 J-Link launched their new line of monitors which included an Ultrawide display. Due to their wide viewing angles, these monitors are great for Gamers who want a truly immersive experience. Ultrawide monitors are also great for Content creators and business-oriented consumers who may need to open and view multiple windows at once to increase productivity and make workflow easier.
There are things to consider. These monitors are large and can take up a considerable amount of desk space. Also older applications may not be compatible resulting in black bars on either side of the display or a stretched-out distorted image. These things should be considered before making the leap to an Ultrawide display.

Included in Package
- Base stand and mount
- Power supply
- Instruction manual
- Display port cable

Setup
Installation was pretty straightforward. The base connects to the monitor mount and is held together by three Phillips screws. With the monitor facing down the mount is slid into place and is secured by a sliding locking mechanism. The base which is mostly metal feels heavy and solid. The mount which is mostly plastic felt solid as well. The display is also VESA mountable.

Performance
First I tested out the display connected to an Xbox Series X. I was pleased to see the Series X did indeed support the Ultrawide format at 120hz. Out of the box the picture was a bit overexposed. I was able to produce a much better-looking image by adjusting some of the picture settings. Gaming felt great and immersive and I didn’t notice any input lag. Freesync is helpful for users to prevent screen tearing. Just be sure to activate it on the monitor and activate the variable refresh rate on the console itself. Auto HDR would not activate with the Series X. To be fair HDR is not advertised as a feature on the Amazon store page, although the option is available to activate in the system settings.

Next, I tested it on a PC and the display faired much better. Being able to tweak settings both on the monitor and on the PC itself made a huge difference in picture quality. Connecting via HDMI I was only able to use the 3440×1440 resolution at 100hz for some reason. I found this strange since the monitor had no problems using a higher refresh rate on the console and swapping HDMI cables did not rectify the problem. Using the display port included in the packaging did however resolve the issue and I was able to run at full 1440p resolution at 144 hz.
HDR did work on PC but resulted in only a slightly brighter picture with significant ghosting. So I would advise against using this feature. This monitor really shined when video editing and multitasking. Being able to see an extended timeline made editing easier. PIP functionality is here and eliminates the need for a second monitor and both inputs are able to display at full resolution.
Price and Availability
This monitor is available to purchase currently on amazon.com for $499.00 USD. Interesting to note this particular model isn’t listed for sale on J-Link’s official website so it may be an Amazon exclusive.
Verdict
Ultrawide monitor prices in general seem to be all over the place. Well-known brands like Samsung, Sceptre, and Philips just to name a few are available sometimes as low $299.00 USD albeit at slightly lower refresh rates to well over 1,000.00 USD for 4k displays. Although this monitor falls somewhere in the middle regarding price I came away overly impressed by the picture quality and performance.
So it comes down to what you want or need out of a monitor and what brand you trust to give your hard-earned money to. If you want a higher refresh rate for gaming or just more space for multitasking I think this monitor is a great option. To me the picture, build quality, and price are good enough for me to make the jump.
