Here it is boys and girls yes thats right we are approaching the release of the iPhone but wait did we not just do this one year ago. Yes thats right its the iPhone 3G the second release of the Jesus phone. So with the new iPhone to be released in less then 30 days, what’s so special about this phone. Well I am going to give you the facts I have read from Apples website and from random research I have done, lets get started.

First off the fact sheet from apple. Introducing the 3G. iPhone With fast 3G wireless technology, GPS mapping, support for enterprise features like Microsoft Exchange, and the new App Store, iPhone 3G puts even more features at your fingertips. And like the original iPhone, it combines three products in one — a revolutionary phone, a widescreen iPod, and a breakthrough Internet device with rich HTML email and a desktop-class web browser. iPhone 3G. It redefines what a mobile phone can do — again.

3G.  3G technology gives iPhone fast access to the Internet and email over cellular networks around the world. iPhone 3G also makes it possible to do more in more places: Surf the web, download email, get directions, and watch video — even while you’re on a call. For example iPhone over Edge 48 sec, iPhone over 3G 20 sec So its faster 2.4 x

Maps with GPS.  Find your location, get directions, and see traffic — all from your phone. Maps on iPhone 3G combines GPS, Wi-Fi, and cell tower location technology with the Multi-Touch interface to create the best mobile map application ever.

iPhone Enterprise.  What makes iPhone a great business phone? Simple. The same features that make it a revolutionary mobile device. With iPhone 2.0 software, iPhone does even more for your enterprise. It supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, delivering push email, calendar, and contacts. And it gives mobile users secure access to corporate resources with Cisco IPSec VPN and wireless network services with WPA2 Enterprise and 802.1X authentication.

App Store.  The App Store is coming soon. And when it’s here, you’ll find applications in every category, from games to business, education to entertainment, finance to health and fitness, productivity to social networking. These applications have been designed to take advantage of iPhone technologies such as Multi-Touch, the accelerometer, wireless, and GPS. And some are even free. You’ll download them wirelessly and be able to use them right away.

Calculator.  Calculator on iPhone combines the simplicity of a pocket calculator with the power of a full-featured scientific calculator. When you tap the Calculator icon, iPhone shows you a simple application with addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and memory functions. Use it just as you would a pocket calculator. Rotate iPhone and your pocket calculator transforms into a sophisticated scientific calculator with dozens of functions for solving complex scientific and advanced mathematic problems.

Mail.  Email on iPhone looks and works just like email on your computer. With support for popular email servers and providers — including MobileMe, Microsoft Exchange, Yahoo! Mail, Google Gmail, and AOL — and most industry-standard IMAP or POP mail systems, iPhone puts email in your pocket.

Besides the thiner design and the new exchange features for business and finally getting around to turning that SDK into the app store they have taken the hard mettle backing off and replaced it with a black or white plastic shell making the new 3G iPhone a bit lighter but more prone in my mind to break over the old mettle one.
In my experience, its always harder to come out with the second product. With every one expecting so much out of the new iPhone 3G, does it really have enough new features to compete with its already biggest foe the first generation that has already been called the jesus phone. So the real question about the new iPhone? Will Apple be able to surpass what they have done for the cell phone market with the wonderful first gen iPhone, or has Apple come out way to soon with a product that may just be the first flop in the downfall of the iPhone.

Please leave your comments below on what your opinion of the new 3G iPhone is and what you think Apple should have done or may have done to make this phone surpass the doubt in so many peoples minds
