iPad Sling is an innovative carrying pouch for any iPad.
Ever since I’ve owned an iPad, I’ve searched for the perfect case and perfect method for transporting the brilliant, super tablet from Apple. Unfortunately, 4 years have passed and I’m still searching. I decided to take a look at the iPad Sling from BlueLounge. I’ve been very happy with their products and thought that through them, I would finally find the carrying option I’ve been looking for.
When it first arrived, I was instantly impressed by the iPad Sling’s appearance. It’s a very slim line messenger-style bag that is just the right size for an iPad. It measures 9.5 inches x 11 inches. Of course, the first thing I tried was sliding my iPad Air 2 into the pack. I currently have my iPad in case that increases the depth of the iPad to approximately 0.75 inches. This is quite a bit thicker than a standard iPad, but since it’s how I carry my tablet, that is how I tested the sling. When I inserted the iPad into the sling within its case, I was pleasantly surprised at how easily it slid into place.
The interior of the sling is padded and intended to protect your iPad no matter how you cover it or leave it uncovered. The main pocket has a mesh divider that is a little rough. I would recommend using caution if you don’t have a case or cover on your iPad. Other than the main pocket, there is a zippered exterior pocket that is slim and basically just big enough for a cable or sliding your mobile phone into.
One of the features I am very taken with is the closure of the flap. At first glance, you think they are traditional snaps, but when you open the flap for the first time, you notice that they are magnets. In my opinion, this is both innovative and convenient. After all, the iPad is meant to be used quickly and efficiently and the magnetic closure makes this much easier to get your tablet in and out of the bag.
The strap is adjustable and designed for a cross-body fit. It was fairly easy to adjust, but I would love to see it be a bit longer. It is currently winter and I found that when wearing my layers and heavy winter coat, that the sling didn’t fit very well across my torso. Without the layers, it was a perfect fit. This is really the only ‘issue’ I have with the sling.
The iPad Sling was designed specifically for the iPad and its essentials. Its slim, sleek design make it a standout in the iPad bag market. In addition to its style, the iPad Sling is made from 100% PET Recycled Materials and aluminum. This goes along with BlueLounge’s line of impressive environmentally conscience bags like the Messenger Bag. Plastic bottles are refined into fibers, which are turned into fabric that is used to produce the bags. The iPad Sling is water-resistant and hardwearing. It’s very durable and can be used under many circumstances.
Even though the iPad Sling specifically calls out the Apple iPad, the bag is compatible with all tablets. It’s available in black, rust, or grey. It retails for $69.00.
