IOGEAR USB-C adapters make your computer package complete.
Changing computers can often be a rocky transition. You inevitably end up with accessories that you need but weren’t expecting to have to purchase. While that really hasn’t been the case for my last transition to the 2016 MacBook Pro, I have still been surprised by some of the adapters that I wind up needing. Many third party companies are taking note of consumer needs and they are creating solutions for USB-C computer users. IOGEAR specializes in developing connectivity solutions that help consumer and business users realize the full potential that their technology devices can bring them. So, when I acquired my 2016 MacBook Pro, I turned to them for the adapters I was looking for.
USB-C Dual-Monitor Portable Dock
This is a really cool adapter. I don’t do a lot of gaming these days and I have a 34-inch ultra wide monitor so I don’t typically connect dual monitors to my MacBook Pro. That said, I love that there is an easy option for people to connect dual monitors for their own setups. This adapter supports Thunderbolt 3 and single 4K or dual HD monitor output. It is compatible with DisplayPort v1.2/1.1a. A USB-C cable is included and there is a wrap around cable organizer for portability. If you have a USB-C computer and want to rock a dual-monitor setup, this is a really great, solid option for being able to do so.

USB-C to VGA Multiport Adapter
While I don’t have a whole lot of occasions where I connect to a VGA compatible monitor anymore, it does come up from time to time. So, I always try to keep an option open for connection to monitors of that type. IOGEAR’s VGA multiport adapter makes it very easy to connect to those once in a while monitors. The adapter includes a USB-C port, VGA, and USB-A port. There are some great features in this adapter. The USB-C port offers Power Delivery Pass-thru and will provide up to 60W of power. Unfortunately, the new MacBook Pro needs 87W, but this is enough for the MacBook series of notebooks. You do get HD video resolution up to 1920 x 1200 at 60HZ. The USB-C connection is compatible with Thunderbolt 3, too. The adapter is small and very portable. It’s great to have around.

USB-C to HDMI Multiport Adapter
Similar to the VGA Multipart Adapter, this HDMI adapter has multiple ports on it including the HDMI, USB-C, and USB-A. One major difference is that the HDMI signal supports 4K Video Resolution of up to 3840 x 2160 at 30HZ. The power delivery output is only 60W just like the VGA adapter. The USB-C connection is also Thunderbolt 3 compatible. In my opinion, this is the best multipart adapter you can have because of its versatility with HDMI. More monitors these days have that type of connection so it makes more sense to carry this one with you. It’s a strong adapter and it travels well.

All these peripherals are great additions for any USB-C computer user. Do you need all of them? Probably not. You should pick and choose which adapters will be most beneficial for your situation. IOGEAR makes good products and these options are quite valuable for a USB-C user. I think my favorite of these three is the HDMI Multiport adapter, but that’s only because it’s the one I will get the most use out of.
