Battery provides convenient power in a compact case.
I spend a lot of time using my phone throughout the day. Because of that, there are many times that I work my battery down to a pathetic percentage. I really appreciate battery cases as a phone accessory, but sometimes they are a bit too cumbersome for my taste. I’ve had several different battery cases and because I like to keep a case on my phone, I sometimes opt for the battery cases that come in two pieces. But, that means I end up carrying the battery portion with me most of the time because I never know when I will need it. It’s a frustrating battle that I have with battery cases, but for me, they are a definite necessity.
Technology accessory company, Innoants, has a very unique solution for this problem with their Ultra Slim iPhone Battery Case. The case is super slim only adding 3.8 mm to your iPhone profile. The battery is a 2400 mAh capacity battery, which provides iPhone 6/6s users with an additional 80% battery power to get your through the day. The frame of the case is made from aluminum-magnesium alloy that keeps the beauty of the iPhone design intact, while also giving a sleek feel to the case. There is a standard LED indicator light on the back of the case that shows you how much power you have left in the battery. To access it, you simply tap the ONE button (on/off button) once and the four LEDs will show you how much power is left. If you press and hold the ONE button for about 3 seconds, the charging function will start.
The case weighs practically nothing and perhaps the most intriguing part of the case is that it operates through a Lightning connection. The battery backing of the case has a one-sided Lightning connector. This will look a bit odd to users familiar with the Lightning cable because you normally see the double-sided version. But, since the phone can only go in one way, Innoants was practical and only included the one-sided version of the connector. I haven’t had any issues with my phone receiving a charge since using the Ultra Slim iPhone Battery Case.
Most battery cases utilize a Micro USB connection to receive a charge, but the Innoants Ultra Slim iPhone Battery Case uses a Lightning port. This means that you can use it with your standard iPhone charging docks and should have no problem charging/syncing with your Mac. One of my biggest pet peeves with battery cases is that you have to take them apart if you want to use a charging dock. The Innoants case is so slim that it fits right onto my iPhone charging dock.
The only issue I had with this case is how you get your phone into it. I will admit that at first, I was confused as to how to insert my phone, but I quickly found that the metal frame slides onto the battery backing. It’s a very unique design and honestly, one of the easier cases to use with a smartphone. Once you get the sliding motion started, you can slide the frame off of the battery back and pull your phone out.
The Innoants Ultra Slim iPhone Battery Case is a wonderful option for keeping you phone charged throughout the day. It costs around $40, which is very reasonable in comparison to its competitors. There isn’t a version for the iPhone 6/6s Plus yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they release one for it soon. I really can’t recommend this case enough. It’s slim, sleek and gives you the opportunity to use your phone uninterrupted.

Right now it looks like this case and its Indiegogo campaign are a scam. Thousands of backers, all reporting that they have received nothing and that the “company” (somebody with a phone number that has a China country code) just keeps telling them to be patient. Meanwhile they sell the case on Aliexpress with what are obviously fake positive reviews, while not delivering any to campaign backers. Buyer beware!
The case as pictured was on sale at aliexpress and amazon before the innoants indiegogo campaign, it’s the Kuke case from Kuner. I backed the innoants campaign back in April and questioned if it was the same case as sold by Kuner and got no reply. Kuner have since moved onto a 2nd gen model (which I bought 2 of) and an additional model with built in 16/32/64gb storage options while Innoants just begin to sell the 1st gen model on amazon and aliexpress. I had to do a charge-back with my bank to get my innoants money refunded.
Thank you for providing the additional information about Kuner case. I wasn’t aware of that when I wrote the review about the Innoants case. I hope that anyone who wants to receive a refund from them is able to.
I received my case today for my iPhone 5 after waiting over 6 months. It was worth the weight. Very slim and easy to use. Charge works well. No complaints.
Yes, looks like I will be scammed too because they are not answering my email and Indiegogo is doing nothing.
Maybe it’s time we boycott this kind of fund raising if they will not protect us, the backers.
I received my Innoants Air Case a bit less than two weeks ago. It looks very similar to the case pictured above (only minor cosmetic differences). It has now stopped taking a charge entirely. The LEDs do not light, no charge is passed through to the phone. A complete fail. And I’d be kidding myself if I thought there was any way I was going to get a refund. Considering the design similarity to the Kuner Kuke, I can’t even bring myself to try the other brand. I’d rather carry an external battery and at least know it will do the job.
That sucks to hear. We have switched the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus so we handed off our old case, but from what I understand it’s still working.
If you get it from Amazon I would try to send it back. They are pretty good about accepting returns.
Finally recieved min, after very long wait … and first trouble, it’s quite impossible to unlock the iPhone with Touch ID when it’s in the Air Case … disapointed and angry !
I waited six months and now have a smashed screen. As a protective case, it is rubbish.
I agree as a protective case it does suck. The problem is that there is no lip around the sides that sits higher then the screen.
A battery case that doesn’t protect your phone is just a battery. AU $189 to fix my phone, the smashed case – i can;’t remember what I paid – is in the trash. Utter rubbish.
I just came across the Innoants phone case and its website as well. There are spelling errors on the site (flag 1), nothing about the people behind the company or the campaign, as far as I can see (flag 2), and the many excuses for non-delivery (flag 3). If this is a legit, original product, I’d happily apologize. In the meantime, I’ll keep looking for something with fewer flags to invest in.
I can’t speak to the company’s website errors or their shipping problems. I can say that the case we received to review has been a very good battery case. At the time of publishing this article, we were unaware of the Kuner case that was referenced in an above comment and have not been able to directly compare the two cases in person. If you are at all concerned about the ‘flags’ that you see, I would recommend trusting your instinct and look elsewhere. As I said, the case we received has worked as it should and has held up very well.
mophie just released their iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus cases. Can’t beat the original battery case makers.
We bought a 6s and 6splus. The case itself is crappy the 6s bezel broke while attaching to the phone. The 6splus lighting connector was broken off from the case battery in delivery. I emailed them baby times in the one week we have had these two cases we waited months to get. Nothing. Might be a scam ? Would agree to exchange fir replacement but no one responding to our emails
That sucks. I’m sorry to hear that. The case they sent us to review was great. We had no real issues with it. I hope they get back with you soon. I would reach out to them via the Twitter page or Facebook. They might be quicker to respond.

I think you should be more responsible as a reviewer.
You must read the comments in Idiegogo campaign page.
I ordered in on Aug. 2, 2016 yet not received the product nor any shipping information. No answer to my mail.
Many people aren’t receiving cases. Others are reporting quality issues.
The campaign’s response to the first group is “Keep waiting” and their response to the second group is “Ship your case to China (at your own expense) and we’ll decide whether or not we’re going to do anything about it”.
You have a valid point. Reviewers do have a responsibility to their audience and I believe that I fulfilled that by providing an honest review of the product I received at the time I received it. I hate to hear that there are so many issues with fulfillment, but I couldn’t have known when the review was published that they would have these kind of problems now. I do hope that you and all the other people who helped fund the case have some sort of resolution for your troubles.
Even though the unit is good looking. It does not work nor do slots line up with phone buttons. The company does not respond to requests on how to fix, replace or refund.
This product is not worth the money. Does not work and slots to not align with iPhone. Company does not respond to questions and/or honor warranty.
After sending emails and long giving up, one day out of the blue it arrived and has been working perfectly since. My complaints: the headphone jack hole was too small for Bose, but I just drilled it a tad bigger, no problem; I wish the font lip were higher, more protective of the screen.
