IMDB for iOS is the ultimate entertainment database.
In addition to technology, I also have a very strong passion for filmmaking. One of the first times that the two interests collided was when I discovered the Internet Movie Database (IMDB.com). IMDB.com was first launched in 1990, almost 24 years ago when I was barely 10 years old. It was originally designed by computer programmer Col Needham and contains a vast online database of information related to films, television programs and video games. It’s the ‘go to’ for film information. Say you want to know how many films Julia Roberts has been involved with. You simply type her name into the search field and then review her filmography. Even though IMDB started out as an informational database it soon grew and was purchased by amazon.com in 1998 and now acts as a subsidiary of the online super store.
In 2009, IMDB released it’s first app for iOS devices. Since then, they have also released apps for Android and Windows Phone 7 devices, too. IMDB for iOS has been hailed as one of the best iPhone apps year after year and continues to improve on its framework as time goes on. Most recently, IMDB for iOS released an update to version 4.3.2 on July 11, 2014.

IMDB for iOS is my ‘go-to’ app for entertainment information. It will always have a place on my iPhone for easy access to all the latest entertainment information. IMDB has always been a place to find any information you need and with its latest update, IMDB can now also help you plan your movie dates more efficiently. To use it, you simply tap on Showtimes from the main screen and then “Times”. The Times feature will then take into account your location, viewing preferences and current time of day to show you when the next showings of the films in your area are occurring. This is very helpful if you are out with friends and spontaneously decide to go see a movie. The feature even shows you an estimated ending time for the movie.
