Get rid of grime and germs with ease!
This year has certainly been one for the history books – as the old saying goes. For months after the coronavirus (COVID-19) hit the United States, people struggled to find cleaning supplies that would be sufficient for killing the virus. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) released recommendations about what cleaning supplies should be used to eliminate the virus on surfaces. A study was recently released that stated that electronic devices such as mobile phones can retain the virus on its surface for up to 28 days. Given that news, it’s more important than ever to thoroughly clean your phone on a daily basis. Even though household cleaning supplies can kill COVID-19, it’s important to note that most of those products are too harsh for electronics. Fortunately, iCloth Cleaning Wipes are not only gentle enough to clean up personal electronic devices, they also have 70% Isopropyl Alcohol as their main ingredient so they can eliminate the coronavirus.
“For electronics follow the manufacturer’s instructions for all cleaning and disinfection products. Consider use of wipeable covers for electronics. If no manufacturer guidance is available, consider the use of alcohol-based wipes or spray containing at least 70% alcohol to disinfect touch screens. Dry surfaces thoroughly to avoid pooling of liquids.” Centers for Disease Control. July 10, 2020. (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/cleaning-disinfection.html)
iCloth has two basic produces — the 70% Isopropyl Alcohol Cleaning Wipes and the Premium Screen Cleaning Wipes. The biggest difference between the two wipes is the cleaning formula. According to the website and the packaging, the 70% Isopropyl Alcohol Cleaning Wipes include 70% alcohol and 30% purified water while the Screen Wipes simply state: “Contains purified water, isopropyl alcohol, proprietary additives.” The website also notes that the Premium Screen Wipes are a ‘gentler solution for more sensitive devices.’ Those wipes are designed for use on eyewear that have special coatings, other optical surfaces, and certain electronics. The cloths are lint-free and exceptionally strong. They have aerospace certifications for effective dirt pick-up and wipes are individually packaged to keep them moist and hygienic.
For the past 7 months, our family has been playing the cautious game and following the CDC recommendations for personal care as well as personal property care. We were ecstatic to learn about the iCloth wipes because even though we have cleaning wipes, they aren’t rated to be safe for mobile phones or tablets. These are devices we use throughout the day and even though we use items like UV-C cleaners, we feel that you can’t be too careful when fighting against this virus. I had the opportunity to try out the Large Cleaning Wipe as well as the XL Cleaning Wipe. In addition to those two wipes, I also got to try one out that was just labeled “70% Isopropyl Alcohol Cleaning Wipe.” It is the same size as the Large Cleaning Wipe.
The first thing I want to comment on is the packaging. Each set of wipes came in its own box. The boxes were clearly marked for the product that was inside and the quantities were also noted. Each wipe comes in its own individual pouch. This was also impressive to me because the pouches are designed with a notch cut out where you can easily tear the top of it off to reveal the wipe. I never had a problem with the wipes drying out before I was done using them. That is something I’ve had issues with before with standard household disinfecting wipes and smaller alcohol wipes.
The wipes are very thick and very soft. The Large Wipe is cut to be 5 x7 in size, which is close to the same size as standard household wipes. The XL wipe though measures 9 x 12. That’s larger than my iPad! I was shocked at how large it was when I pulled it out of its pouch. It was very fragrant. It smelled like Isopropyl Alcohol, which is to be expected, but the smell did permeate the room I was working in at the time. When I took it out, I planned on just wiping down my keyboard, which needed a thorough cleaning. After I used to to wipe the case of the keyboard, in between the keys, and across the top of all the keys, I wiped down my mouse, Bluetooth headphones, and the rest of my desktop. The wipe was still moist after all that! The smaller wipes were just as good. I did use the wipes to clean the surfaces of my iPhone and iPad and the screens looked great afterwards.
If you are looking for some great cleaning wipes that can handle everyday cleaning as well as be gentle enough for your electronic devices, look no further than the iCloth Cleaning Wipes. They have the formula that is recommended by the CDC to properly sanitize electronic devices and other non-porous surfaces. They come in multiple sizes and because they are so strong, they can clean multiple surfaces and objects before you need to open a new one.
