Never again search for someone to help you to jump your dead battery.  iClever provides you with your own personal portable BoostEngine Jump Starter.

One of the issues with having bigger toys like lawnmowers, golf carts, tractors, and motor homes is remembering to keep them charged.   I currently live in Kentucky, and regularly use my lawnmower, golf cart and motor home during the spring/summer/fall.  However, during the winter I usually have a trickle charger keeping my batteries charged.  I do have a few wall outlet trickle charges and I actually have a solar powered system on my ride-on lawnmower.  I don’t know what happened this year, but I forgot to charge both the battery on my golf cart and my lawnmower.  You can imagine the frustration when I went out to try to mow my yard and found my lawn tractor would not start.  This has happened once before and I had to physically push it out into the yard.  From there I had to jumpstart it with my truck. This was problematic, it was difficult to position and was not that convenient of a mistake.  IClever has a quick charge 600 amp peak 15000 mAh portable BoostEngine device that helped me markedly with my problem this year.

The device comes packaged in a plain cardboard box with a black ink design of the battery on the cover.  The back of the carton details the specifications of the device.  The battery has a 15000 mAh capacity, 300A starting current 600A peak current.  It can support dual quick charge 5V, 2.4A, 9V, 2A, 12V, 1.5A.  To charge the device, you can use Quick Charge 2.0 5V, 2.4A, 9V 2A or 12V 1.5A.  Opening the case, you will see a battery pack the size of an iPhone 7plus with yellow coloration and black center.  The colors are very eye catching, which works well for low light scenarios.  The device measures 5 15/16″ long by 3 1/8″ wide by 1 3/16″ thick and weighs 15.5 ounces (440 grams). Charging time: 3 hours with a storage time of about 6-12 months.

The top of the battery has a single power button.  Pressing the button once will illuminate the 4 blue LED indicators: 25, 50, 75, 100% power.  Holding the button will illuminate the flashlight at the end.  Press the power button again for a flashing/strobe light, press it again for visual morse code SOS and then again to turn it off.  If you rotate the device 90 degrees counterclockwise, you will find the jumper cable port. This is a special port that the included jumper cables will attach to.  This is dummy proof and will only accept the cable a single way, which will thus prevent current issues and possibly explosion. The back of the battery displays the same specifications as those listed above.  Additionally, the company provides caution information: do not jump start vehicle with less than 75% power, do not cross the poles, do not connect clamps together.  Rotating the device another 90 degrees, you will find the input microUSB port for 5V/9V/12V input.  On the front end, you will find 2 USB output ports 5V/9V/12V and the light.

Now that I have discussed the features of the battery, I can return to the carry bag, which is much nicer than I expected.  The bag is lined with elastic straps for compartmentalizing your gear. This bag is perfect for a car, for a boat, for a motorhome etc.  Inside the bag, you will find the 40.5″ charging cable USBA to microUSB. You also have the intelligent Jump start cables with super short 6.5″ cable on dual alligator style clamps.  They are color coded red for + and black for -.  Lastly, you have an eight panel instruction manual.  The only other piece of tech that i would encourage you to get is a QC 2.0 car adaptor, which will allow you to charge your battery on the go.

The iClever device is listed as being able to jumpstart any vehicle up to 6.0 L gasoline or 4.0 L diesel (my 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel is out) and 12 V 10 amp lawnmower ~20 times. The device is quick charge both for input and output, with included QUALCOMM QC 2.0 charging. This can thus be used as a portable backup battery, emergency battery, etc,  to charge your phones, camera, or tablet.  If you have QC 2.0 tech, you can expect faster charging of your devices.  Some sources even claim that you can charge a QC 2.0 device up to 75% faster than with typical charging speeds. As listed above, the battery should charge in just three hours.  It was incredibly convenient that the battery was charged out of the box, with full 100% indication on the lights.

It is listed that you can expect up to four Full charges of the iPhone 6s/7 plus (specs online claim iPhone 7.5 times).  You can expect to charge a iPad mini 4 approximately 1.5 times.  Using my Drok USB tester, I was able to generate 1-2.1 amps for my iPhone 7plus and iPad Air 2.  Current is on demand and thus it did fluctuate some. You can utilize both of the power outlet ports for powering your devices as well.

I truly believe that devices like this should be in every vehicle.  I have placed this iClever device into my wife’s minivan in case she needs a jump or needs to power her iPhone 7.  I have used it to jumpstart my lawnmower and it provided enough juice to get my golf cart moving.  I was able to charge the battery with the alternator.  This is a perfect device for camping, as I can charge my apple watch, iPad air 2 and iPhone 7 plus through an entire weekend, with 1 device.  I will admit, I am relying a little on the company specs for total number of charges.  I have tested it and know for certain that I can get my iPad air 2 from 50% to full, iPhone 7 plus from 50% to full and my watch from 40% to full and still have 50% power on the battery (out of the box).  This was after jump starting my lawnmower and golf cart with the battery.

Perhaps the best part of the entire device revolves around the ultra smart clips.  There is only 1 way to insert the prong into the battery.  You need only not cross the poles or touch the claws together.  iClever did all they could to make the device idiot proof.  For added protection, the BoostEngine battery also has overcurrent protection, short circuit protection, overload protection, reverse connection protection, reverse charge protection and over temperature protection.  It is truly hard to believe that you will get all of these features in a battery roughly the size of an iPhone 6S plus.
