Flip a Creepy 1970s Home in Red Aphid’s The House on Usher.
A new game by Red Aphid takes you through the halls of a decrepit old house that you, as the realtor, must clean up to sell.. Unfortunately, the house seems to be alive and trying kill you! In this Edgar Allen Poe-style hidden object mystery game called The House on Usher.
The House on usher gives players the role of Agent Angie Dee who is on her first assignment as a realtor. She must ‘flip’ the mysterious house on her first day on the job. Your goal is to explore the property, clean it up and help the property gain additional value. You do this by searching for hidden objects, cleaning cobwebs and bugs away from the rooms in the house on Usher.
“The House on Usher has a satirical aspect that players are sure to pick up on – starting with the title, which is a clear nod to Edgar Allan Poe. We had a ton of fun thinking of ways to spoof some of the genre’s staples – like the need to investigate every nook and cranny in order to secure a high score. If you’re up for an adventure in real estate, now is the time. You don’t want to keep *this* house waiting,” said Brian Judy, co-founder of Red Aphid.

I have found The House on Usher to be very enjoyable. Hidden Object games have always been fun to me and I love the twist this one gives the standard seek and find games. One of the things I look for in games is length of gameplay – how quickly can you move from level to level, etc. For the most part, I like quickly moving games. The House on Usher takes that speed down a notch, but makes it easy to pick up where you left off, which is something else I like. It’s fun and addictive.
The House on Usher is free to download and play, but only for the ground floor level. The remainder of the house can be purchased for a one-time fee of $3.99. The House on Usher is available for iPad only. For more information, visit redaphid.com/site/project/the-house-on-usher.
