The Hitch takes the headache out of finding a venue.

Most little girls dream of being a princess and her wedding is the day that dream becomes a reality. Some little princesses-to-be plan out their big day piece by piece and when the day comes, they are ready to plan. Others simply want to be happy and have simple expectations. As long as they have a space big enough to fit both sides of the family and friends comfortably, they are happy. But, where is this mystery location? I can say from experience that it can be a lot harder than it seems to find the ideal location for your wedding. I’ve helped friends and family plan their events and while the obvious locations stick out, the hidden gems are much harder to find. The Hitch for iPad was created to help those planning a wedding find that perfect venue.

hitch-1Developer, Casserole Labs, LLC, created the Hitch in just 6 weeks after one of their team members began going through the endless search for an event venue. Launched December 18, 2013, the Hitch features event venues of all kinds and sizes from around the United States. Casserole Labs, LLC is looking to engage more locations and even extend to be global.

The Hitch is a free app that allows users to search through venue profiles, select favorites and contact them. The app includes a filter function that allows search results to be narrowed down by guest count, budget or venue type. Users can search through venues by city, state or even mood or theme.

hitch-2The interface of this app is absolutely stunning. I’ve actually never seen one quite like it. When you select a venue, there are main photographs as the header and then basic information along with supporting photos along the sidebar. All the information for a venue is right at your fingertips and makes planning very easy. There are a lot of websites that try to do what this app does and they fail.

Because the Hitch is only about a month old, the developers are still collecting venues and even have a submission form on their website. There is a registration process, but like the app, it’s free and gives you the ability to view your dashboard online as well. The only thing I’d love to see changed is the ability to view the app in landscape in addition to portrait orientation.

I highly recommend this to anyone trying to plan their wedding or any special event. It’s a great tool and fun to use.
