FNTCASE Military-grade Rugged Case for iPhone 14 Pro
The FNTCASE is designed to be armor for your iPhone. It provides 360-degree protection, but is not resistant to water or dust. The case also does not allow for some of the advanced features -- such as MagSafe charging -- to be utilized. It's a budget-friendly rugged case that is good for side adventures, but not preferred for my personal everyday use.

Maximize protection for your iPhone with the FNTCASE rugged case.
One of my most-used devices is also one of my most valuable — my iPhone 14 Pro. I use it throughout the day for work, keeping track of my health activities, and for capturing precious memories with its awesome camera system. The iPhone is more than a monetary investment and I want to make sure it’s well-protected against accidental drops, bumps, and other unforeseen mishaps. This is where rugged cases come into play – a robust shield specifically designed to safeguard your iPhone 14 Pro against even the harshest conditions. Rugged cases can be very cost-prohibitive though, so I was glad to be able to try out the FNTCASE Military-grade Rugged Case for iPhone 14 Pro.

User Experience
The case comes in a plain FNTCASE box. It’s all black but does have the logo on it. The back of the box has a few details on it and a sticker that indicates what case is on the inside of the box. When you open the box, you’ll find the case wrapped in plastic with pieces of foam surrounding the screen of the case.
There are some installation notes included with the case that instruct you to remove any tempered glass or screen protector before putting the phone in the case. The was a little off-putting to me because the screen protector that is part of the case is not tempered glass. It is scratch proof, but it’s just a layer of protective film — nothing more.

The case provides 360º protection for the phone. It’s not element-proof, but it does provide military-grade drop protection. While I am the type of iPhone user that always keeps a case on my phone, I usually don’t have a ‘tough’ case like this one. Installation was easy enough. I placed the screen protector side of the case on the phone first and then squeezed it into the back of the case. The case fits the iPhone 14 Pro really well and it doesn’t feel super bulky like some cases with a similar design.
The case is primarily constructed with hard plastic and while it feels sturdy and secure on my phone, it also seems a little cheap when you first examine the case. That said, the case does seem to do its primary job – protect – well.
One of the biggest issues I had with the function of the case came down to its special features — namely the stand and its compatibility with magnetic charging. I’ve become accustomed to using a PopSocket on the back of my phone and the stand can act as both a stand and a phone grip. My fingers were able to slip through the opening on the stand and it was comfortable to hold that way. Unfortunately, the stand snaps into place and it’s really difficult to pull off the back of the case when you want to use it. I ended up having to use a small screwdriver to pry the stand into the open position.

Second, I primarily charge my phone using a MagSafe compatible charger. The case is compatible with wireless charging, but not magnetic charging. I tried several times to get the magnet to connect with my MagSafe charger and it could not reach through the case’s layers. Now, the case does not claim to be magnetic charging compatible, but it was a disappointment that I couldn’t use that feature while my phone was secured in the case.
Conclusion
While the FNTCASE Military-grade Rugged Case for iPhone 14 Pro does a great job of protecting the phone, it falls short of my expectations. I have no doubt that it offers military-grade protection, but its other features — or lack thereof — are underwhelming. Since the iPhone has advanced features such as MagSafe charging, I feel that cases should provide access to those options. That’s why even though I felt the case fit the phone well and provided strong protection, this won’t be my everyday case since I can’t use the features on the phone that I prefer.
