Flowboard is a modern, simple presentation tool for Mac that gives you what you need.
There have been many times that I have created digital presentations in both my personal and professional lives. For the most part, PowerPoint was the ‘go to’ application, but when Apple released Keynote in 2003, I began changing some of my presentations over to the cleaner, more creative presentation software. Both presentation applications have their place, but sometimes, they are a bit too much for when you just need an app to get the job done. Flowboard for Mac is a wonderful, modern, easy-to-use presentation app that doesn’t carry all the weight of PowerPoint or Keynote, but it does have everything you need.
Flowboard for Mac allows you to create clean, creative presentations quickly and efficiently. It uses cloud-based storage with a 500mb per month upload quota, which can be increased with premium feature purchases. Flowboard presentations give you the opportunity to include interactive screens with navigation, documents, videos and image galleries. Perhaps the most unique part of Flowboard’s ecosystem is its ability to share between people.
When you upload your presentation to the Flowboard cloud, you can choose to make it public, private with a sharable link or viewable only to yourself. When I created a test Flowboard to upload, I was impressed with how quickly it uploaded and how easy it was to view and share. You can copy the Flowboard address, which is essentially a weblink or you can embed the provided code to send the presentation to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Mail or Google +. You are also provided with a short URL that can be shared with live audiences for their review while you are giving your presentation.
Flowboard gives you several template options to start with or you can choose to start from scratch. Inserting different creative elements in a breeze. You simply select the ‘insert’ option from the menu bar and a drop down menu with the option of text, image, gallery, video, YouTube/Vimeo, PDF or shape appear. With Flowboard’s automatic guides, placement is flawless and very simple.
It’s also worth noting that Flowboard comes equipped with a fully interactive guide. This guide is available in the upper right-hand corner of the app. The most frequently asked questions are featured there complete with solutions.
I really appreciate the simplicity of Flowboard. As the developer suggests, it’s a presentation software without all the fluff. You can still create breathtaking presentations, but don’t have to overcomplicate it with extras that aren’t necessary for most presentations.
Flowboard is currently $9.99 for the first 10,000 downloads. This is 50% off the regular list price. For more information, visit flowboard.com.
