Unboxing
Let’s get down to how they take care of your product before they get it to your hands! FlexiSpot has always been known for keeping their product well protected and I think they have done even better with this one. All components were separately wrapped with foam and the heavier objects not only had foam but also a layer of cardboard to make sure they didn’t damage the others around them. Once again, I will have to say that when you get that box delivered, you can be pretty confident that everything will be safe and sound, and don’t forget that if you do have any concerns or questions you can always email them as they are quick to reply and even quicker to resolve any issues you might have had.
Installation
Once I have opened up the box and sorted through all of the components ensuring I had everything I needed, you can do so by using the manual as they have given you a list with pictures of every item you will need to fully put this chair together. The chair was extremely easy to put together, and although the instructions were simple and not overly complex, they were a bit hard to read. But FlexiSpot did you as the user a favor and did label some of the parts such as the arms rests as right and left in a very visible stamp, and the bottom of the cushion and the lifting mechanism attached to the base both have an arrow on a sticker that shows orientation so you know what was is forward. Overall, I think the install from start to finish took about 10 minutes.
You will find that the C5 is only available in black and grey so it does limit your color options but both are still good choices to fit about any office space! You will also see that they gave you subtle hints of chrome on the height adjustment handle, as well as the back of the chair’s sleek design is fitted with a very stylish chrome bezel on the bottom and the knob for the lumbar and then a splash of red is used on the lumbar push bar. for being a more affordable option for a luxury style chair they really did well on the design.
The seat is composed of a 3” thick high elastic sponge that is in the shape of a W, and the reason for that is that the W shape is designed to help overcome decompression and collapse of the foam when sitting for long periods of a time. The simplicity of the chair is honestly really nice, although the C7 has more functions, with the C5 you don’t get lost in all the handles trying to figure out what does what, you can reach down and know that the lever you are going to grab does one task and that’s it, the other adjustment is placed in a further back location you can’t reach from just sitting but is still, in my opinion, a good resolve to keeping the clutter of levers down.
