A loud, rugged Bluetooth speaker built for parties, outdoor events, and live performance
Teufel Audio is a Berlin based German audio company that has been designing and engineering high quality speakers, headphones, and home cinema systems since it was founded in 1979. The brand is known for combining strong engineering with user focused design to create products that deliver rich sound for music lovers, gamers, and home entertainment fans alike. Over the years, Teufel has expanded its lineup to include portable Bluetooth speakers, wireless headphones, and immersive home audio setups as it continues to grow its presence worldwide.
One of the most notable recent developments for the company was its collaboration with Fender in 2024. Through this partnership, the two brands launched the Fender x Teufel ROCKSTER series of Bluetooth speakers, blending Teufel’s German engineered audio performance with Fender’s iconic design and musical heritage.
The Fender x Teufel ROCKSTER AIR 2 is a high power portable Bluetooth speaker designed for users who want room filling sound without giving up portability. It delivers loud, detailed audio with strong bass response and clear highs, making it suitable for parties, outdoor events, and even live performance use. The speaker supports modern Bluetooth connectivity for high quality wireless streaming and includes multiple wired input options, allowing it to be used with microphones, instruments, or external audio sources. A built in rechargeable battery provides up to 58 hours of listening time, and the rugged design makes it practical for travel and on the go use. As part of the Fender collaboration, the ROCKSTER AIR 2 pairs Teufel’s audio engineering with Fender inspired styling, giving it a distinctive look while staying focused on powerful and reliable sound performance.

Unboxing and First Impressions
The box weighs around 30 pounds, and when it arrived it was definitely a bit cumbersome to move around. Inside the box you will find the speaker itself, a small booklet, a Fender guitar pick, and a three prong universal power cable. The speaker is clearly on the heavier side, but it does feature two built in handles, one on the top and one on the bottom, which make carrying it easier.
That said, I do wish the ROCKSTER AIR 2 included wheels and a pull handle. Given its size and weight, a rolling design would make moving it between rooms or outdoor spaces much more convenient, especially over longer distances.
On the back of the unit there is a wide range of ports, including an XLR output, XLR microphone input, 6.3 mm instrument input for guitar, 3.5 mm AUX input, USB C port that functions as a power bank output, and an AC power input for mains power. Also on the back you will find a series of physical control knobs for each input, including Bluetooth volume, AUX volume, instrument volume, and microphone volume. These controls make it feel more like a portable PA system than a typical Bluetooth speaker.
The speaker features a built in rechargeable battery that is also removable through a small access door on the back. This is a fairly large battery and appears to be a common type that can be found online and, in some stores, as it is used in a variety of other products. I really like the fact that the battery can be easily replaced, as this will significantly extend the overall lifespan of the speaker.
On the top of the speaker, you will find the power button, play and pause controls, Bluetooth pairing button, a master volume knob, and a combined bass and treble adjustment knob. Everything feels solid and well built, and nothing feels cheap or flimsy.
One area that caused some confusion was the Auto Power feature. The instructions state that you can turn the Auto Power switch to ON Low or ON High, with Low responding to a strong signal and High responding to a weak signal. In real world use, it is not very clear what qualifies as a strong or weak signal, especially when using Bluetooth. Some online sources suggest this setting affects how quickly the speaker powers off during inactivity, but in my testing, I did not notice a clear difference between the two modes.
Overall Use
This is without question the loudest speaker I have ever personally used. I took it to a large open area and turned it all the way up, and it filled the space with sound very quickly. With the bass and treble knobs cranked up, the speaker delivers punchy bass that can easily shake a house when the volume is pushed to its limits. Despite the power, the sound remains surprisingly clean and controlled.
With most Bluetooth speakers, I prefer to max out the volume on the speaker itself and then control the listening level from my phone. That approach works here since the speaker volume and device volume are separate. However, when the speaker is turned off or auto powers down, it does not remember the last volume setting and defaults back to about halfway when powered on again. The bass and treble settings do retain their positions, which makes the volume behavior stand out even more. I wish the master volume would also remember where it was last set.
I keep the speaker positioned in a corner, and the Auto Power feature allows me to turn it on remotely just by connecting via Bluetooth from my phone. That said, because the volume resets, I still need to walk over to the unit to turn the volume back up to my preferred level. It is not a deal breaker, but it is something worth noting in day to day use.
Pricing
The ROCKSTER AIR 2 is available on both Amazon and Teufel’s website for $449 at the time of publishing.
Conclusion
The Fender x Teufel ROCKSTER AIR 2 delivers an impressive combination of power, clarity, and versatility that makes it one of the most capable portable Bluetooth speakers I have used. At around $449, it sits at a higher price point than many typical portable speakers, but the performance and features justify that cost for anyone who wants big, detailed sound that can fill large spaces or handle a variety of use cases.
The speaker’s robust build quality, wide range of input options, and long battery life make it a strong choice for outdoor gatherings, parties, and even small live events. While I would love to see wheels and a pull handle to make transport easier, the ROCKSTER AIR 2 still stands out for its sound performance and real-world usability. If you are looking for a powerful speaker with flexible connectivity, long play time, and a distinctive look that blends Teufel engineering with Fender inspired style, this unit is well worth considering.
