ENERGI Sliding Power Case

ENERGI Sliding Power Case from TYLT offers 120% extra battery for your iPhone 6.

One of my primary concerns with mobile phones is its battery life. Since I use my phone for a variety of activities throughout the day, I find my battery life dwindling down to 0% very quickly. I’ve tried using portable battery packs, but find that at times they are too constrictive and bulky for a device that should be on the go. That’s why I love the ENERGI Sliding Power Case from TYLT.

The entire ENERGI line from TYLT seeks to provide power to its users. There is an array of battery packs ready to serve you. The Sliding Power Case for iPhone 6 is the newest piece to TYLT’s power puzzle. The case features a removable battery sleeve. That battery sleeve provides a 3200mAh battery, which is nearly twice the capacity of the iPhone 6’s internal battery.

I’ve tried out other battery cases before and what really makes the Sliding Power Case unique is its inner protective case. I’ve always liked having a case around my iPhones, but sometimes a battery case is too bulky to carry around all the time. This battery case solves this problem by allowing the user the option of sliding the inner case out of the battery pack and using it as a stand alone case. This design provides a dual-layer of protection. Plus the inner case has a raised Bezel that helps to protect your screen from unnecessary scratch or accidental drops.

The protective case has guides on the side that make it very easy for users to slide it in and out of the battery pack. One thing I was worried about with this design was the possibility of it not being a strong enough connection to keep the phone inside the battery pack. I can assure anyone considering this case that it is a very strong connection and pulling the two apart is a welcome challenge.

Both the inner case and Power Sleeve are designed to flow with the design of the iPhone 6. They have a low profile and a soft touch feel. I personally love the soft touch because it doesn’t feel like it’s going to slip out of my hand and it’s easy to clean.

So how does the charging work? It’s easy. When you slide your phone into the Power Sleeve your phone’s Lightning plug port connects with the charging end of a Lightning cable in the sleeve. Once your phone is connected, you simply depress the button on the back of the case to start charging. Once your phone reaches 100%, the Power Sleeve will automatically shut off and reserve the remaining battery for later use. The button has four LED indicator lights that show when the battery is fully charged. If you charge the Power Sleeve with the phone inside, it will charge the phone first and then the case.

One other bonus to using the ENERGI Sliding Power Case is that the Apple iOS feature ‘Hey Siri’ can be used while on the go. Because the only requirement for that feature to work is that it must be plugged in, the battery pack fulfills that necessity. So, when you are in your car and have your iPhone 6 in the case perched on a mobile phone holder, you can simply shout out, “Hey Siri!” and the phone’s assistant will come to life. This is very helpful especially when you are in the car because you can turn on the navigation without taking your hands off the steering wheel. Plus, using the case means you don’t have to have a Lightning cable draped across your dashboard causing further distraction and annoyance.

I’ve been very happy with the speed at which the TYLT’s Sliding Power Case charges my phone and with its sleek design. This is definitely a ‘must have’ for any iPhone 6 user. It retails for $99 and is well-worth the purchase. It’s currently only available in black, but I wouldn’t be surprised if TYLT begins to offer its beautiful vibrant colors for the case. Along with the case, TYLT provides a Micro-USB charge and sync cable in the box.
