Emoji Keypad brings additional creativity to text messages.
One of the newest improvements to Apple’s mobile operating system was the addition of ‘the smartest keyboard ever.’ Along with the QuickType function and predictive texting, iOS 8 also has the ability to include third-party keyboard experiences like one from Apalon Apps, Emoji Keypad. Emojis (emoticons) have been available through the iOS system for some time, but it’s been limited to single characters, but Emoji Keypad gives you more options to share your emotions through text messages, email or any other outgoing text-based message. Some of the feature of Emoji Keypad include:
- Emoji and text combo keyboard
- Emoticon Pics
- Fancy Fonts
- Word Maker
- Ultimate Emoji Library
Emoticons are something that I recently just started using on a regular basis. i have used text-based smiley faces, but not the actual images. I have really enjoyed testing out Emoji Keypad. When you first download it from the App Store, you are met with a set of instructions for enabling the Emoji Keyboard within your iOS device. It’s very easy and within a few screen taps, you are ready to start using your new Emoji keyboard. One of the things I really appreciate with this and other Apalon Apps is that the startup guide is available within the app if needed later on. Some apps do not include any sort of help section.
Emoji Keypad has an enormous library of emoji icons and artwork. I still haven’t reached the end of the lists provided by the app. A very nice feature of Emoji Keypad is that you can use it as an enabled keyboard within iOS, or you can compose an emoji message within the app and then share it through Messages, Mail, Twitter, or Facebook. Emojis are broken out into categories within the app. This allows users to be able to find just the right message for just the right moment.
Word Maker within Emoji Keypad is particularly fun. It allows users to spell out any word with emoticons. For example, let’s say you want to say Happy Birthday to someone. You can open Word Maker, type in the word or phrase you want to express and then choose the emoticon you want to spell out the word or words. I chose to spell out cat with the cat face smiley. This is something that people used to spend countless hours creating character-by-character.
Emoji Keypad is a very inventive, easy to use app for iOS. It’s a lot of fun to use and it adds a lot to person-to-person communication. Emoji Keypad is available for $1.99 in the iOS App Store. For more information, visit apalon.com.
