Take charge of your thirst with the boss.
With summer creeping in, we are reminded very quickly how the hot weather can affect us. We need to drink more fluids in order to keep ourselves going. One of my favorite drinking containers is a 22-ounce stainless steel tumbler. It keeps warm liquids warm and cold liquids cold for long periods of time and that’s a big bonus for me. The only issue I have is its size. I end up still having to get refills often because I drink it down too quickly. That’s where larger stainless steel containers like this Growler Bottle from EcoVessel come into the picture. They are large and definitely in charge of your thirst this summer.

USER EXPERIENCE
When I first saw the BOSS in person, I was awestruck. The container is absolutely enormous. It holds 64 ounces, which is enough to share with multiple people. I was thinking at first that it would be nearly impossible to just lift and drink from it. But, after I filled it up, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to grip. Yes, it’s quite heavy at first, but if you are out in the heat of the day working in the yard, at summer camp, or on a job, this size can be quite useful. I remember super hot days during high school where I would fill up a thermos for band camp and have to refill it twice during the day. With that in mind, the BOSS is a very nice option for hot summer days.

I was very interested to see how the infuser would work out. I’ve used them many times before, but thought that for the size of the container that the infuser basket might be a little small. I cut up a strawberry and added it to the basket along with some blackberries and set it into a continent of ice water. After just a few minutes, I could slightly taste the fruit, but after the fruit was in the water overnight, it was much more potent. It wasn’t as though the water was ‘flavored’ per se, but it did have the essence of the fruit. I think this infuser basket is probably best suited for tea or coffee based on its size and the strainer size. The fruit works, but it’s not as good as when you use tea with it.

I was impressed at how well the BOSS kept beverages hot and cold. I’ve had several stainless steel containers — both brand name and generic — and the BOSS did a great job with both temperatures. I don’t think I ever had liquid sitting in the container for 150 hours, but I can say that there was still ice in the container after 8-10 hours and coffee was kept warm for around 6 hours at a time. This was more because the beverages were gone before I could let them sit for very long.

CONCLUSION
I’m a big fan of stainless steel beverage containers and I especially like the BOSS. It’s very large and can be used for a variety of occasions. A single person could use it to keep cool on hot days, or a family could use it for a road trip. This would make a great gift for Father’s Day or just because. It’s a solid beverage container and it will last for a long, long time.
