Never forget bills with Chronicle for Mac.
If you are anything like me, keeping track of your daily schedule is enough to make your head spin. Keeping track of day-to-day activities is one thing, but multiple bills that only occur once a month is even more of a headache. For a very long time, I was keeping track of my monthly bills by using the Notes app on my MacBook Pro. It’s been a monthly struggle and after a year of keeping my bills this way, I started researching apps that were built for bill management. I’ve tested out several and have found that Chronicle is the best option.
Chronicle by developer LittleFin, LLC is a bill management app for Mac and iOS. In this review, I’ll be covering the Mac version and will release a second review for the iOS version. Chronicle gives you peace of mind that you won’t miss any bills or their due dates. Chronicle is not your standard “finance” app. It in fact takes the bill reminder section out of the standard finance apps and concentrates only on the bill management and not the day-to-day transaction recording.
When you start using Chronicle, you create a new bill by selecting the “+” icon in the menu bar. You enter a name that describes the bill accurately, then an icon that is a visual for that bill. You enter the following information to complete the bill entry:
- Next due date
- Amount due
- Total balance
- Repeat interval
- Payment method
- Payment URL
- Reminder interval
- Tags
Once the bill is entered, it appears in the “Your Bill” list. The list is very easy to read and show the most important information. Another important piece of information that you enter is your income. The income options are fewer than the bill entry. I believe this is because the developer was trying to make Chronicle as simple and clean as it possibly could be. With the income options, you only enter a description, pay date, amount and its repeat interval. The fun thing about Chronicle is that it places a small smiley face icon on the date on the mini calendar where you receive your income.
Chronicle is easily the best bill management app I’ve used. It’s very easy to understand and easy to enter bills. Those are two things I was really looking for in this type of app. Not only is it incredibly easy to use, Chronicle also keeps track of proof of payments, spending and will stay in sync via iCloud or Dropbox for access on any of your devices. Chronicle will also add reminders to your Calendar app so that you never miss your payments.
Must have Mac apps don’t show up daily they are crafted into well designed works of art. Chronicle might be a finance app, but it’s a beautifully designed work of art. What makes Chronicle a must have Mac app is its extremely clean and easy to use interface, So many apps in this category tend to overflow with non useable features that the end user will never take advantage of. Chronicle takes the headache out of keeping track of your bills.
With Chronicle for Mac, you will never forget bills. It’s easy to use and it’s actually a finance app that I enjoy using. For more information, visit chronicleapp.com. Chronicle is available for download in the App Store for $9.99.
