Camoji takes selfies to the next level.
For years, smartphone producers have made it easy for us to take our self-portraits by making forward-facing cameras and those cameras continue to grow in strength and quality. Many software developers are taking advantage of the camera advances to create the best selfies possible. They want us to share our faces with the world and Leo Me, Inc. has taken their app development to that next level.
Leo Me, Inc. has created the app, Camoji for iOS. Camoji uses your smartphone’s camera to create GIFs for sharing via text, email or social media. The actions to record your GIFs are simple. Camoji activates your camera when you start the app. You can choose to use the camera regularly or forward-facing. Then, you use the native gestures of the iPhone to create your GIF. Tap the screen to add text or emoji stickers, tap and hold to record an animated GIF and swipe upwards on the screen to text to others.
Using Camoji is really quite easy and it’s fun to use. I found it to be a creative interesting app. It’s an interesting take on the other photo manipulation apps out there. Animated GIFs have been around for a really long time and, in my opinion, creating them and sharing them seems like a natural evolution for the selfie-world. Even though it’s a simple, clean app already, I could see room for improvement. You can add text and embellishments, but it would be neat to be able to combine GIFs that you take. For example, if I have a GIF of our dog walking into the room and I want to combine it with one with her leaving the room, it would be a nice feature to be able to merge the two within the app.
Even with that suggestion for future update, Camoji is simple to use, free to download and a creative way to send selfies. For more information, visit camoji.com.
