Calc One is the calculator that you’ve been looking for!

One app that I truly appreciate having handy on any of my iOS devices is a calculator. There is a native calculator on the iPhone, but there hasn’t been one on the iPad and I end up having to find a third-party app that might end up costing me money for all the features. Fortunately, Apalon has just released Calc One for the iPad.

Calc One is a fantastic calculator for the iPad. Developer, Apalon, has completely reimagined how we use a calculator and translated that to a wonderful app for the iPad. Calc One incorporates many time-saving features that make it an efficient, convenient calculator app. Some of the features include:

  • Natural numeric keypad
  • Smart bar
  • Instant results with live calculations
  • Two calculator modes – standard and scientific
  • Interactive calculation history
  • A wide color selection

I use my iPad daily and up until a few days ago, I was using an app that has not been updated in over a year to do calculations. With the release of iOS 8, I wanted to make sure all my apps I use have been created or updated to work best with the latest operating system. Calc One is optimized to work with iOS 8 and with features like Instant Results, where I don’t even have to type the equal sign to see the results, Calc One has been very helpful throughout my day.

Something else I really like, but wouldn’t normally think about is the size of the app itself. Installation of Calc One only takes up 11MB of space on your iPad. And, when space is at a premium on your mobile device, the less space, the better.

Calc One is responsive and because of its natural numeric keypad, performing operations is much quicker and easier than ever before. The Smart Bar is another brilliant feature of Calc One. Since the scientific calculator is only fully visible in landscape mode on the iPad, the developers decided to include Smart Bar so that the most recently used scientific functions were available without going into scientific mode. This is, in my opinion, one of the better features that could have been developed for an iPad calculator. I know that when I’m viewing something in landscape or portrait mode that I don’t want to keep switching back and forth constantly. I really enjoy the convenience of the Smart Bar option.

For more information on Calc One, visit apalon.com/calc_one. Calc One is free to download and available in the app store.
